I heard them a couple months ago. It's so very Alice in Chains.. which isn't necessarily bad, but not overwhelmingly good, either.

I love AIC, so I will probably like it. I must check it out.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

The grinding lawsuit between Courtney Love and surviving Nirvana members, Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic is finally, and yes, thankfully, over.
At least according to Courtney Love.
On Friday (September 20), Love announced to fans on Howard Stern's radio show that "You'll get the new Nirvana record at Christmas. We love each other. We're getting along. We worked it all out."
Don't expect a Hole/Foo Fighter's duet anytime soon, though. Ms. Love said it took "lots and lots and lots of money" for the two sides to come to terms.
The war between the two parties began when Grohl and Novoselic made a move to release a box set of rare material last year to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the release of Nevermind. Love was granted a court order against the debated box set, alleging that a previously unreleased song, "You Know You're Right," could rake in the dough and conquer the #1 spot on charts everywhere. Love claims that she didn't want the track on an expensive box set, but would rather release the song on an affordable single disc.
Last year Grohl and Novoselic filed a countersuit against Love. In April, the duo's request for her to undergo psychiatric evaluation was denied. The debate was resolved outside the courtroom, but for Love, the battle inside the courts won't be over for a while. Despite telling Stern that her "other lawsuit" has been resolved, she's still battling out her contract dispute with the Universal Music Group. The trial was scheduled to begin tomorrow, but has been postponed until October 1.

Yesterday, Edge102 played the "new" Nirvana song "You Know You're Right" and I had waited so long to hear it. Most of the time, when you keep hearing something is so unbelievably great, you suffer a tremedous let down. I have been a huge Nirvana fan for a long time and kept waiting for the song to be released. I thought it was so great. Hearing the song, I can almost visualize Kurt sitting in a chair with his cigarette and singing this song. I highly doubt, It will become a huge hit as todays alternative music has chanced alot but I am finally happy. Thanks to Krist and Dave, who finally got the song release. And a big fuck off to Courtney Love who I hope I never have to see or hear of again.
New Nirvana music, eight years after Kurt's death. Weird

I missed Nirvana and AIC live. It's really sad. I at least got to see Jerry Cantell do some AIC songs live back in 98 and this year after Layne died...

Just felt the need to come in here and say Kurt Cobain was amazing ..
k, that's all .. back to the discussion

I swore to God that it was AIC with the opening bass intro. It freaked me out. Then the vocals came in, and it still amazed me....Imagine if Cobain was still alive. If he lived, I can tell you right now that Layne Staley would be alive right now.

The evidence would seem to indicate that he didn't kill himself, but he was definitely suicidal, so, it doesn't really change anything about him.
Just makes us realize that Courtney Love is probably more evil than any other annoying bitch would be.

Imagine is Cobain was alive. Nirvana would still be very popular. And with that, AIC would still be as popular, because Layne would have tried harder to kick his addiction. And the music would be as great as ever, because Layne wrote some great stuff when sober, and all of AIC's sober music debuted at #1. And one of those cd's was an EP, and they're the only band to have their EP debut at #1. Pearl Jam would probably be as popular as they are now, because they're always gonna be legendary.
