Ten fingers we have each...

Post by al_ »

Nine planets around the sun repeat
Eight ball is the last if you triumphant be
Seven oceans pummel the shores of the sea

It's a typical situation
In these typical times
Too many choices

Everybody's happy
Everybody's free
We'll keep the big door open
And everyone'll come around
Why are you different
Why are you that way
If you don't step in line
We'll lock you away

Six senses keeping
Five around a sense of self
Four seasons turn on and turn off
I can see three corners from this corner
Two is a perfect number
But one

Everybody's happy
Everybody's free
We'll keep the big door open
And everyone'll come around
Why are you different
Why are you that way
If you don't step in line
We'll lock you away

It's a typical situation
In these typical times
We can't do a thing about it

Sounds very familiar. I guess it's bound to happen at some point, for every band.

But you would not call your thumb a finger, otherwise why would the word thumb exist?

It's sort of like how a square is a type of rectangle, but a rectangle is not a square.

A thumb is a finger, but a finger isn't a thumb.

Every now and then I fall out into open air just to feel the wind, rain and everything.
And though the hum and sway gets me down
, I'll find the way to peace and openness.

That's my favourite DMB song!!!

BTW, I got Under the Table and Dreaming, Live in Red Rocks and Live in Chicago two days ago, not to mention I already have Before These Crowded Streets and Live in Luther College. I love these guys, they belong to my top 5 favourite bands.
Al's emails put a smile on my face, even though all they say is "You've got a private message!"
