TRL?

Post by luckyJQ9 »

Did anyone watch TRL today to find out if OLP made the list. I forgot to vote or watch, so I'm like...the suckiefan, sorry, but I was wondering if the olp.cc's plan actually worked.

Probably was...i just was it on olp.cc. I don't belong to OMA anymore cause the freakin' page refuses to load on my computer so I can't rejoin til I get back to school, or until I find a nice computer with a nice connection to join from.

Yeah it was from the OMA but olp.cc will always post the OMA e-mail on their website to get people interested in the Street team ..

I would've been happy even if OLP had made it on the countdown just to get pushed off again.

I think it's a bad thing that they didn't make it.

I would have loved to see Our Lady Peace on TRL. As shitty as that show is, it's a huge step for bands to get on that show. With there not being any rock bands on there and then for OLP to be the only one on there, if they had made the countdown, would just rock because they would have been the only rock band on the countdown...did that make any sense??

But anyways, I would have LOVED to see them on there.

All I know is I sat by my phone for half an hour calling over and over again, just to fail. And what a surprise, it will be two straight weeks without a non pop song on the countdown. The last time anything like that happened was when New Found Glory made the countdown, a long while ago. Fuck MTV

Yeah, I'm wondering how the hell can some singer (I'm using that term loosely) like Paulino Rubio get more votes than OLP? The world is coming to an end I tell ya. - Megan

I'm kind of irritated that not only did OLP release Gravity and a lame video, they're now pushing for a TRL audience. (shrug) They've kind of ripped away my delusions about what sort of band they are. I can understand wanting to be on TRL, but changing your music and fighting to get on TRL is dumb.

Not that I'd really have a problem with them being on TRL if they were still the same band, though. It's just a vehicle, I guess.

I guess she's a singer, I was watching it yesterday to see if OLP was going to be on there, and first of all she can barely sing, and pretty much she's just a Britney Spears-type who can't sing but looks good. Stuff like that makes me really hope OLP doesn't get on that show - Megan

i think trl is rigged. record companies give mtv money to play the videos. simple as that.

Nope, not on TRL, but they are an Inside Track on VH1 now. I also heard them on the pop station out of St. Joe and they are very TRLish, so I think it is only a matter of time.

Almost all the people who vote for TRL like shitty pop music, which means they will vote insanely for the new N'Sync or Britney video without even hearing the song. If SWOT does make the countdown, it will probably be not because people actually like the music, but because a whole bunch of girls get together and decide Raine is hot.

Of course, I wouldn't mind having OLP on TRL if only for the boost of record sales, which could lead to a re-discovery of their back catalog, which would be sweet.

It seems like Detroit has given up on OLP's SOT. They're playing Innocent out the ass on 89X, and it's already one of their top 9 songs, after just starting to play that song in the past 2 weeks. Maybe other stations will start riding Innocent....who knows?
