Album Cover Discussion

Post by Axtech »

This has been discussed all over the place. Place your thoughts here.

I think it's simplisticly wonderful. Nature, Gravity, Rollercoasters. What more could you want?

I really love the almost purposly redundant black background under the see-through case (under the CD). It just fits so perfectly for the simplicity.

Yeah, so did I. Then again, he is like 80-90 years old...

Plus, this whole album is about new things. New sound, new guitarist (not exactly planned), etc...

I think it's lovely, but they should put the band members on and equal level, being as they're all equally important.

Doesn't necessarily need more color....B&W is good.....it needs to be less narcissistic. (maybe thats too harsh)

And what about a non-boring font? This is the first time they've let us down in that respect. Naveed had the sanskrit, clumsy had the cool shifty ripped stuff, Happiness had the screwed-up typewriter look, and SM of course had Oli's unique scribble. So now we're opting for dull, pre-fab block letters? Fuckin sucks.

I don't like it .. it's boring and plain .. it's like a BSB cover *shudders* The album covers have always been creative and artistic and they claimed they didn't have enough time to put Sol on the cover and book him into a photo shoot .. they should have made time .. I miss Sol :(

Sol being on album covers was just a tradition. It's was like our little thing, our little secret. (our being OLP fans) I mean, sure, someone might notice that there's an old guy on Naveed, Clumsy and Happiness, but we know who and why. It was just our little tradition, and now it's gone.

Agreed .. it's plain and looks fake :(

Sol is a very important part of Our Lady Peace .. they obviously thought so since they included him on all the covers until now .. I doubt they just see him as "some old guy" and I just think it would have been nice to have at least mentioned him that's all ..

That's what worries me, I'm not very fond of their new look .. when a band starts changing their look to appeal to the boppers, it's usually downhill from there :(
