Ranked: The Ultimate Showdown Part 1
Ranked: The Ultimate Showdown Part 1
I've toyed with this idea for a few years but what the hell? Let's pull the trigger and see what happens! Over the next 14 days there will be an album by album poll where you all will vote for the top songs off of each of OLP's 9 studio albums. Compilations like A Decade, and Playlist will not be considered, nor will Live, or promotional discs like Labatt, or various Sony promotional discs. Bonus or hidden tracks like Molly, Time Bomb, and The Right Stuff will not be included, though we may have something for them down the line. The top 2 songs from each album will move on to the finals where we will decide the best of the best. Have fun and play nice!

Re: Ranked: The Ultimate Showdown Part 1
I want to throw a poll together for tracks that were not included as part of the 9 studio albums. This will include tracks from compilations, soundtracks, and the vault. It will exclude remixes, alternate mixes, early demos, sample clips, and live tracks. Here is what I have came up with so far:
Out Of Here
Needle And The Damage Done
Tomorrow Never Knows
Whatever
Not Afraid (Labatt version)
Kiss On The Mouth
Better Than Here
Time Bomb
The Right Stuff
Fight The Good Fight
No Warning
Not Afraid (Vault)
Hurt Yourself
Vampires
Save Yourself
Anything I am excluding or songs you want to argue a case for?

Where would Out of Here rank? I still like the song even with the cheesy video

This is awesome Matt!
For the non-album songs, shame the piano version of Julia doesn't fit the criteria. Perhaps you could consider adding Imagine as well? I'd also argue for including Our Time is Fading and Drive here in this category.

Props to Matt, this was a great idea, and a good wander down memory lane. I still listen to a lot of OLP, but this made me really think about some songs I haven't "thought" about in a while... only listened, sang along, then moved on to the next, instead of analyzed.
Re: Ranked: The Ultimate Showdown Part 1
Ok folks, tie-breaker threads have been posted for any album that had ties for either first or second place. Here are the tracks that are already moving forward to the final round (ties for first are already moving, we just have to decide which is number one):
Denied
Naveed
4AM
Car Crash
Stealing Babies
All My Friends
In Repair
Bring Back The Sun
Not Enough
Angels/Losing/Sleep
Paper Moon
Heavyweight
Rabbits
Not Afraid (Vault)
Whatever
Tie-breaker polls will run for 5 days, and then we will decide which OLP track is the best of the best!

I don't know how I'll ever decide which one is best, but that would be a killer setlist right there.
