I love where he talksa bout Fans following the band. People seeing Multiple shows then goes on to say we had people on the road seeing shows in a row.

Really. Does that sound like anyone we know?

When I read that I was so proud that he recognizes that..

for the record there are about a dozen or so people now. Glad to see them getting that kind of support

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

I read this yesterday. It's one of the best interviews with Raine that I've read in a long time.

Very good article, always nice to hear more from the band.

One thing I am wondering about though, is his remark that they don't look back fondly on their first record. I am confused as to whether they mean Naveed, or HIPT (being the first record they don't look back fondly at).

He's referring to HIPT. Its the first record that they don't look back fondly on. I thought the same at first but its just worded oddly.

That doesn't sound familiar AT ALL...

Nope, NOT AT ALL. Who would do something like that?? :D
“Music doesn’t have the power to change the world. What music does is it changes people, & that changes the world, so to say that music doesn’t change people anymore is just ridiculous. It does everyday. It doesn’t have to be on a political or social level. You could be feeling shitty & it makes you happy & if that’s all it does, it’s changing the world. It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida

What you may not realize is that Raine was once a fan when younger. He followed U2 for Joshua Tree. I think he was 17 at the time..I think that is why they can appreciate the loyalty. Because they themselves are fans.

I did find it odd that he said MIKE DID NOT LEAVE THE BAND> Does that mean he was Fired? Actually Iheard alot of things from people in the know.. Still I think they made amazing music with Mike. I think they make amazing music with Steve. both of them.

I do wonder if any of them ever tried to talk to him. It has been 10years. Mike is very happy doing his own thing. He also has no ill will toward OLP and wishes them well.

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

By the way Raine was talking, it did sound like they let Mike go... kicked him out.

Put's a different spin on things.

At least this interview had substance, in addition to the blubber.

YES! I finally was able to create an account here...anyways, I really liked the fact that Raine gave a straight answer about Mike. Like this is how it was. period.

You were the one doing the interview?
YOu were mentioned? finally getting your shoutout/love from the band?
Raine spoke about things not spoken about before?
