A few months back a friend of mine showed me his DVD Where The Light is, or something about that and I was impressed. I remember not liking Mayer's earlier stuff cause I thought he was a Dave Matthew ripoff, but NO. He's evolved to something beyond amazingness. I'm still not too fond of his persona. I've been reading him on twitter and he seems to be a bit too full of himself... egomaniac, but I can't deny his talent.
A couple of days after watching his DVD I grabbed myself a copy and since then have been absolutely crazy about Continuum and Battle Studies. The man's got some masterpieces, it's undeniable...
Sometimes I get pissed by such talent he has. He's got the ability of writing some very pop and catchy songs but still they sound amazing. All the cliches are there, but he still knows how to use them in a good way and he doesn't abuse them. Damn... great stuff.
I HATE Battle Studies, but Inside Wants Out through Continuum (along with John Mayer Trio and his live albums) are great. Although Heavier Things is kind of on the weaker side, besides a few songs...

This was on HDNet back in the Spring, and Heather and I caught it one night. Likewise, we were really impressed. I bought the audio recording and played it for about a month solid. I haven't heard any of his other albums, but I have seen some other live performances on Palladia, and he is very talented. Plus, he is taper friendly .
<nam_kablam> I'll be naked holding a ":O" sign while pumping their door

Really?
I think it's pretty solid and almost as good as Continuum. I haven't lisntened to the other previous two albuns though.
