CMer cheap and easy recipes
Does anyone have any good recipe recommendations? I'd like to decrease my monthly food budget by trying out some good recipes with primary ingredients that are dirt cheap such as lentils to offset my love of mushroom crusted halibut with truffle essence and porcini sauce. Mmmm.

This is true, but Kym makes fun of me for buying too much cereal.laurel wrote:Milk.
Cereal.
= bigger win.

And I really prefer organic milk to the standard which makes it a bit expensive, although with cereal it's not as noticeable a difference than on its own so I can settle.

Don't worry, I try to save that for while I'm at work. Really pays!laurel wrote:Josh is looking to save money. Bran flakes are a bad idea in this situation.
Eating bran flakes = more pooping = more toilet paper usage.
Toilet paper ain't cheap!

Am I the only person that doesn't find pasta that easy? It's cheap and its fool-proof but it takes a long time and I find its usually a lot of effort to make it yummy. I'm not much of a pasta fan, i guess.
My go-to cheap staple is rice. I mix rice with everything. Its so easy to chop up whatever is in my fridge and mix it all together. I have lots of different kinds of soya sauce to make it tasty and delicious. And its pretty healthy when you make real rice, not box rice. Really cheap too.

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

i'm a rice person too. rice is incredibly cheap and if you invest in a rice-cooker, foolproof to cook.
my favourite cheap & easy meal these days is chicken smothered in salsa done in the slow-cooker. put it on top of rice, and if we have some around, i put a big dollop of sour cream on top. nom nom nom.
