Good Video Of Denied Live

Post by Driven »

Maybe we should just have a YouTube thread?

Anyways, it's odd but I think OLP should play more from Naveed because it fits Raine's voice more than the other old albums. His voice on that album was low and more comparable to his voice today than Clumsy, Spiritual Machines, and Happiness...

I was quite happy with this performance.

I agree with the Naveed/Current Voice thing completely.

COOL...
with the exception of few soundchecks here and there the last time this song was played live( except this year) Duncan and Steve were not in the band. I do think Duncan did play this once or twice in 1995.. His first show was the Oct 95 Winnipeg one. I can not remember if they did this song or not.

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

That was a fantastic In Repair. One of my favourites of their singles.

With that falsetto in the middle...can you almost imagine All My Friends, or The Wonderful Future?

Wow, that In Repair was amazing. Everything from Raine's falsetto, to Steve's guitar work, to everyone in the band just jamming out and how you can see how much they were getting into it.

Hah, if Raine was too nervous to play Carnival back in 2005 I doubt he's gonna do AMF or Wonderful Future... though I would melt if he did. And Car Crash... I think my life could just end right there after I hear that live; life well lived.

He could do Wonderful Future with his current voice. But it wouldn't be a crowd pleaser. Denied works for those who don't know the song because it's a harder song. Same with Car Crash. Wonderful Future would be more of a popcorn break song for most fans.

Fans wouldn't be the right word then. Let's say... concert-goers?

Heh, it would seem like some of us fans were disinterested because we'd literally be frozen stiff in awe

It's sad when a band whips out a really cool cover or old song, and nobody cares because they have no idea how much of a gem it really is. If I brought a few casual OLP listeners to their concert and they brought out The Wonderful Future, they wouldn't care one bit.
