Our Lady Peace Set to Release Their 7th Studio Album, 'Burn Burn' in Canada and the U.S. on July 21st
Tue. May 05, 2009

TORONTO, May 5, 2009 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX) -- Single "All You Did Was Save My Life" Serviced to Radio Monday, May 25th

Sony Music Entertainment Canada announce the release of Our Lady Peace's 7th studio album on July 21st, 2009. Our Lady Peace, consisting of Raine Maida, Duncan Coutts, Jeremy Taggart and Steve Mazur, will release 'Burn Burn' in the U.S. through Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group.

'Burn Burn' marks the first studio album from Our Lady Peace since 2005. Self produced by the band and recorded at Raine's home studio in Los Angeles, 'Burn Burn' marks a return to the hard driving rock songs the band displayed on their breakthrough debut release, 'Naveed'. As Raine explains, "We've come full circle and the music is just stripped down, full of raw energy. It feels like a proper rock record again." Fans can catch a glimpse of the studio sessions plus exclusive reveals of artwork, lyrics and more, at the band's website www.ourladypeace.net.

The first single "All You Did Was Save My Life" hits radio Monday May 25th and the video, directed by Scott Weintrob who has previously collaborated with the band on two other videos, features 90210 star Shenae Grimes.

In addition to their six full studio albums, which all surpassed Platinum sales status in Canada, Our Lady Peace released a live CD/DVD in 2003 and a hits collection in 2006, compiling a decade of their chat-topping singles and featuring two new tracks.

Throughout their career, the band has sold over five million albums worldwide, won four Juno Awards and ten Much Music Video Awards making them one of the most awarded bands in MMVA history. They've shared the stage with Jimmy Page & Robert Plant, Rolling Stones, Van Halen, Faith No More, The Ramones, Goo Goo Dolls, No Doubt, Stone Temple Pilots, Alanis Morissette and Blur among others. Of their live show Billboard Magazine said "OLP proved their readiness as arena-worthy superstars during the opening night of the Canadian act's U.S. tour."

Of the group's previous studio albums, 'Gravity' and 'Spiritual Machines' are Double Platinum, 'Happiness... Is Not A Fish That You Can Catch' is Triple Platinum, 'Clumsy' received a Diamond Certification in Canada and the band's 'Live DVD' went Double-Platinum. Released in late 2005, 'Healthy In Paranoid Times' has surpassed Platinum Certification in Canada. Our Lady Peace were also the founders of the Summersault Festival that toured across the country with a lineup that included the Foo Fighters, A Perfect Circle and The Smashing Pumpkins.

Our Lady Peace will hit the road across North America in support of the release this summer. Several Canadian dates have already been announced and more details on touring plans can be found at www.ourladypeace.net.

Nooo! I leave for California on July 18 for a week and a bit. I hope I will be able to find it there on the 21st!

I also hope they don't perform in Regina when I'm gone. I have to see them again! Who knows if they'll make another album!

Wow...I cant believe we finally know when its all going down...too bad waiting for something to happen isnt on it....

I guess OLP's definition of soon is about 5 weeeks, since they posted the single would be soon on twitter on April 23.....lol

Well I am just happy and I have concrete dates to look forward to, as well as the 2 festivals I already have tickets for already and the tour to come....WOOOOOOOOOO!
Is there something good, something more?
Is there anything worth dying for?

Awesome! I can't wait! I'm wondering if WFSTH is on there with a different title or left off completely. This has really got me excited though!

The only title that scares me is "Never Get Over You," it sounds like a cliche, poppy ballad. I'm not saying I'm right though.. I'm not going to condemn it without a listen.
