Album #7

Post by faninor »

I'm sure some of you read this in Steve's blog.

We have a couple of shows coming up in August in Ontario and that may be it for touring for a bit, but we have been talking about getting some new song demoing happening pretty soon. I will dare say that there will not be another 3 year break before a new OLP record is out there.

fuckin eh!

Glad to hear that. I am actually hoping Raine produces it this time and its a little more aggressive then HIPT. I still think Vampires had potential to be a great lead for the next one...

I thought the Greatest Hits album was going to be number 7?

Aha.

Well boo on them :P Haha.

So technically they'd have 9 albums. That's a pretty good run for a band now-a-days.

You know.... back in the day we joked that the 'new' album would come out in 2017.

Right now that wouldn't be so bad. And seems like a more practical target for the band.

Actually I nearly made this thread be called "LP 9" but I decided there would be far more people wondering why such a high number.

Hopefully Raine, or a producer with some artistic intergrity produces the next one. You can tell they really had to fight to keep HIPT from becoming gravity part II.

and for the record..I think HIPT is a really good album. Still suffers from some overproduction. And I like parts of Gravity, however mainstream it is.

HIPT shows potential for a new album. Especially if Raine produces it.

But as long as they stay away from Bob Rock, I'll be happy.

I heard the exact same thing before the last album.

So this time I know not to get my hopes up.

If it comes in 5 years, at least I have my Sharon, Lois and Bram albums to hold me over until then.

they should go back to Arnold Lanni for this next album. They won't, but it would be fucking amazing.

I have a feeling that this next album will be the exact opposite of Healthy In Paranoid Times. I think that once they start recording, they'll end up breezing through this CD quickly.

Don't know why I think that, though.

I don't really care when it gets released just so long as there's no more of that "sons and daughters mothers and fathers" nonesense.
