i dont understand the point of these threads.
why do you need someone elses approval or not of your favourite bands?
it just seems..... useless

it is useless.

it's not a matter of needing the approval of others. I just find it interesting to see where my musical tastes overlap with (or contrast with) others'.

it's a good way to start discussing music, which never happens on this board other than Matt Good, OLP, and all the bands that have connections with OLP (and are automatically really great).

but it's different to hear another person's take on the music (ie, criticism or praise) rather than just knowing that they listen to them or not.

But couldn't the discussion somehow be consolidated into one thread? I would hate to have to post in 43597834957 threads just to hear everyone else's opinions on the music that I listen to.

I like it... It's a little more tame than what I usually listen to... but I think I'll definately find myself listening to him in the future.

And P.S. I created this thread because I liked the other one about just bands and I thought this was also a good way to find new indie bands.
