Hey everyone,

For those of you that don’t know me, I’m Stace and I handle a lot of fan stuff with the band. You may remember me from Clumsy Congress or the old .net. I get to go to a lot of shows and meet a lot of you fine folks.

I apologize about the confusion the ticket packages caused. This is the first tour we’ve done on this system and the details about what they included was not available to you guys. I’m sure this left a lot of you frustrated and upset. I’ve tracked down the package details and here’s what you need to know:

A premium seat in the first 8 rows for reserved venues or early entry for General Admission Venues
Special Edition Laminate
Exclusive Merchandise
1 year Fan Club Membership at the ‘Human’ level (If you are already a member, your membership will be extended one year)

Also, the first 12 people in every city who purchase a 'Hot Seats' package will get a soundcheck party pass.

In response to people saying they’re taking their chances at buying a ‘not so good’ ticket at regular price you should know this. A very small percentage of the venue is put aside for presale. An even smaller piece of that was saved for these package tickets. You can look at it this way: You can get up at 9:00 and bombard Ticketmaster and try to get tickets and end up sitting beside someone who bought theirs in one of these packages. These are just a way for people who don’t have the time to do that to have a chance at those seats as well.

We’re experimenting to see what you guys really want. Come next tour, these packages could (and probably will) change. If you have any concerns or suggestions please post them here or email them to me at Stace@ourladypeace.net

Thanks for posting Stace. I'm not sure I feel better given that many of us have seen soundchecks for free and I'm not sure how it can be justified to charge that much.

In any case, it's good to hear from you.

Did the band know about these $170 packages? Do they know we have been very frustrated and upset with the tickets, packages, process, organization of everything, etc? Just curious.

Thanks

I just posted this on .net, but it's worth saying here as well:

I'm still gathering my thoughts on this entire issue, and will return at some point with a massive essay. However I want to mention a couple of things immediately.

1) Thanks to Stace for getting on the case and doing something about this *hugs*

2) I'm afraid I have serious issues with this line of Stace's post: "We’re experimenting to see what you guys really want." I really don't think that's acceptable. Various members of this site gave you input before the site was made as to what we'd like to see. The site's been up for at least 4 months now - in that time you could have asked for feedback from all the members as to what they'd want, what they'd be willing to pay etc., the things you asked us before the Drake. And yet we haven't been asked anything at all, and suddenly this situation is thrust upon us as "an experiment". You really can't be experimenting still with people that are paying money to belong here.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

Yes Stace thanks for posting that up to clear up alot of rampant confusion on the board.

In my mind .Net was created for the rampant fans here that go to show after show after show. I'm sure you realize this can be expensive just in travel alone. (Re: $100 gas money + $100 ticket to see OLP @ the Drake)

Add $170 on top of that to numerous shows and it really adds up.

The only thing that sticks out witht his premium ticket is: "Exclusive Merchandise"
Maybe that should be defined further to see just what we're getting. IMO I didn't like the latest tour shirt with the naked lady on it. What good is that for someone who doesn't like it?

In my mind the best thing I can take away from a concert (Besides the experience) are things like the set list I wrestled away from a 6' 6" body builder / 3 doors down fan, stickers ripped off OLPs equipment cases, and guitar picks. Little things like that. Not some overhyped semi-mass produced piece of merchandise.

Stace in Columbus you got me into sound check, you got me in afterwards to meet the band. (Though I was the one who picked 'Red Star Tavern' which resulted in Dinner with Steve ;) ) That was well worth $50 (Maybe more)

I had thought about paying near that price for the .Net membership but with nothing happening at the time it was intorduced. And with London and anywhere else in Canada (For this tour) out of the question I see no current reason to pay for a membership.

What about those who do go show to show to show and pay $170 each time. Will they receive the same exclusive merchandise? Or will it vary show to show?

I agree with Soozys post on the "We're experimenting" quote. There shouldn't be reason to experiment, you and the people running .Net should already know what us 'Rapid fans' want because you've met so many of us and hung out with all of us etc etc.

I'm not saying it should be perfrect, but it should be far from $170 per show.

Brian, while I agree with your sentiment, I have a few corrections and comments on what you've just said.

Kicker774 wrote: (Re: $100 gas money + $100 ticket to see OLP @ the Drake)

Need to clarify that that was a driving ticket, not a ticket for the free show.

Ripping stickers off OLP's equipment cases is vandalism of your favourite band's property - you should be ashamed of yourself.

I'm pretty sure that wasn't Stace who did that. Are you getting her confused with Karen (OLP's tour manager)?

Yes, this was a ticket for failure to maintin a assured clear distance or something to that effect. The concert ticket was free because http://www.lorirocks.com

Nope, pretty sure it wasn't Karen that spent 12 hours on a Greyhound bus to get there and then couldn't get me into the CD101 (Local radio station) accoustic set. But she did manage to flag them down after the set for a quick chat and to get my setlist signed

I highly suggest avoiding buying them them. Just image what it will be like if enough people buy them so that they decide this "experiment to see what the fans really want" is successful.

You should be able to get good seats on the regular sale. You don't even know what the "exclusive merchandise" is. You can buy fanclub membership for $25 or go ahead and get the $35 membership which is supposed to be even better, but really there's nothing there worth paying either amount for yet. And only the first 12 people who buy them get into soundcheck... that's sounds like the most interesting part of it but it isn't guaranteed to everyone who buys the hotseat package. Why is that something that someone would want to pay an extra $120 for?

I've just had another thought. Will people know if they're in the lucky 12 who get soundcheck passes before they get their tickets? Cos it would be a bummer to pay all that money and not even get that - not that I think anyone should be paying that much even with the soundcheck.

wow... just imagine if a venue sold 13 of those packages and you were the 13th who didn't get into soundcheck.

I thought part of their discussions yesterday was meant to be tying down exactly what the merch would be. However, it seems not.

I don't quite understand why the soundcheck passes are limited. I still hate the Hot Seat package crap, but shouldn't that at least be something everyone who buys it gets? The soundcheck I went to in Philly was at a MUCH smaller venue than these shows, yet there were probably at least 30 of us in there.

I'm sure there'll be lots more than 30 people there. When I went to the ones on the FOTTP tour it was mostly radio station winners, one pair of winners from the cc/.net, and other randoms who knew the band in whatever way or had designed t-shirts for them (I'm still mad I didn't actually meet Jay).

Yeah... but a few more people who've paid $170 to be there surely wouldn't overcrowd the place?

Also, boooo to not meeting Jay. :(

Don't buy those packages. I managed to find a good ticket well after the pre sale started.

IMO, DOT Net members should all be automatically invited to the Soundchecks....seriously, how many members are there really gonna be at each show?! There should be a cutoff date of say, March 10th...and if you're a paying member before this date, you get an invite to the soundcheck, regardless of how much you spent on the ticket price. They obviously have a record of who got a password to which presale...
It all goes back to the principle thing. We knew nothing in advance about what ticket sales would be like...prices, locations, nothing. All we seemed to know was that there would be a pre-sale.
