OLP Announces 'Paranoid Times Tour'

Post by Soozy »

From olp.net:

PARANOID TIMES TOUR"

OUR
LADY
PEACE

WITH SPECIAL GUESTS
NEVERENDING WHITE LIGHTS,
JETS OVERHEAD
AND PEDESTRIAN

One of Canada's most powerful rock bands, Our Lady Peace has had a place on the nation's airwaves since their 1994 debut Naveed. Coming out of the grunge era, OLP specialized in tumultuous, sometimes angry music, rooted in solid electric guitar grooves and the soaring vocals of Raine Maida.

Six albums later, the band has lost none of its passion and fire, while bringing more musical ambition and political thought to its modern rock. While Our Lady Peace is as successful as ever, having sold 4 million records and gathered legions of fans worldwide, Healthy in Paranoid Times stands as one of its best and most confrontational efforts yet. A record that is as electrifying and dynamic as anything the band has produced, and is fueled by Maida's commitment with and work for the charity War Child. The platinum record has earned the band two Juno nominations, for Rock Album of the Year and Band of the Year, but it's clearly minds and hearts that OLP wants to win, not awards.

No Toronto date? Are we still awaiting more dates?

Every now and then I fall out into open air just to feel the wind, rain and everything.
And though the hum and sway gets me down
, I'll find the way to peace and openness.

I don't think so.

Toronto have had enough Olpness in the last year.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.
