I just got back from Toronto yesterday. That's why I haven't been posting.
I actually went to Toronto to finish up police testing for the OACP COR Certificate. That is the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police, Certificate of Results. In order to apply to any police service in Ontario, excluding Peel Region (they have their own testing), oneself needs the certificate of results.
OPP and ATS (Applicant testing services) http://www.applicanttesting.com are the only agencies in Ontario that do the testing. So the info is there for anyone interested in doing Police work.
In order to achieve the COR you need to complete the PATI (police analytical thinking inventory), WCT (written communication test), PREP (physical readiness evaluation for police) and BPAD (behavioural personnel assessment device)then vision and hearing.
I went up to Toronto on the weekend to re-certify my PREP and to re-test my BPAD component which I failed 6 months ago. I passed my vision and hearing but failed the bpad back then due to jumping to a conclusion in one of the scenario's. The bpad measures one ability to solve problems that police are thrown into everyday. Also it measures your interpersonal skills. You view 8 scenario's and they record what you say in each scenario. It's pretty cool!!
I passed the physical component. It was a JOKE!!!
but this time I think I passed the BPAD since I had the exact same scenario's as before. So I'll keep you all updated, as i will know my results sometime in the New Year!!!
Now who else's dream is it to become a Police Constable in Canada?!
DISCUSS!
