I wasn't at this show or anything, but the setlist was just posted on R&S. They did Carnival! Kinda weird, though - no more Potato Girl or Waited on the setlist.

prays Carnival is stil in set for Seattle.

I think they are slowly adding songs in as the tour progresses. I asked Raine in DC is there a chance i will ever hear a song again> he told me you never know cause they are adding stuff in .. They have been testing stuff out in soundcheck..

BTW I do not think PG was really a fave song to do live. They seem to always have some problems with that one. Odd thing is on the Happiness tour PG was replaced by Waited.

Whereas the new performances of Waited are sped up too much and not really as good as it used to be, in my opinion.

didn't you guys say Raine was forgetting the lyrics to PG.. That is what I meant by problems..But I remember in 2002 they did it in toronto, but repepaced it with Waited at the other shows. I asked Raine abou tit. He said it just didn't feel right.. I think they did a good job with thte song..

I haven't heard Waited on this tour so I do not know what it sounds like..

maybe by the time they get to west coast we will get another song..

Oh yeah, he isn't singing the usual lyrics in Potato Girl. As far as I can tell he's sorta improvising like with Not Afraid, or just changed some of the lyrics to the song. I've heard a couple recordings now, and it's not like he forgets a line and stops singing. The lines are just different.

In New Haven he did the Potato Girl lyrics all correctly, though I think he had a lyrics sheet since that was the first time he did it. But on the recording from Chicago a couple weeks ago he's totally doing the lyrics in the wrong order, or just forgetting them completely and making weird mumbly sounds to the music. He's not really singing new stuff. That's either my 3rd or 4th favorite OLP song ever, so I would've noticed if he screwed up the lyrics at my show.

I looooooooooooooove the stuff Steve does with the guitar in the chorus

I vividly remember carnival from the first time I ever saw OLP - Edgefest '97 in Ottawa...oh man if I get to hear this in Toronto...gah....I put a carnival quote in my high school grad write up too...ahh memories. I feel old.

c'mon Nov. 6th, why aren't you here yet?

Hmm, indeed, a couple of lines were in the studio version but I didn't recognize them out of their usual place in the song. The other stuff doesn't seem like weird mumbling to me. :*)**

It sounds to me like "oh shit, I don't know what words go here. Let me make sounds like I'm singing."

Kinda like in "In Repair" - the whole "the wire, the fuse, the things that you doubt" part that he no longer does correctly anymore, he just mumbles stuff so it sounds like he's singing.

In the Chicago recording, the first line that doesn't seem to be from the studio version sounds like "if you were never leaving, you know [possible mumble]" and the second spot seems to probably be a mumble.

The other one I've heard seems mostly just out of order with one line that seems to be a mumble that resulted from Raine realizing he was getting a line out of order and kinda mumbling it back into the line that was supposed to be there. I was a little confused when I posted earlier, I thought the made-up but distinguishable line was in this one too, but when I checked it wasn't.

I think Raine learned "the things that you doubt" in In Repair now, but yeah... haven't heard a recording from this year where he got that section fully correct.

And I suppose I should finish listening to these shows I downloaded.. I just notice that the end of In Repair is different lyrically in the DC and Webster Hall shows than it was in 2002/2003 and in Chicago this year.

Definitely.

And yay I'd forgotten Alana was coming. We met a very long time ago in a cafe/restaurant place in Ottawa. I'll be good to see you again.
