Yay for Seattle!!!!!!!!!!!! (and Portland!)

Post by MattCTUSA »

OK, so had to miss Vancouver last month thanks to the alternator going on my car...but I will NOT miss the Seattle show. But, I do have to say, I really wish the show wasn't at the Showbox. It is a small venue for Seattle..around 900-1000 people, but the sound usually is crappy there and they usually oversell the place. I was hoping for the Moore Theatre...but, I guess I cannot be too picky. Considering that OLP gets NO radio airplay in Seattle whatsoever...I suspect this show will sell out though with the BC'ers that will come down.
Gonna try for Portland too...I hear that venue there holds 600. But, that depends on if "the man" will let me out of work.

33 days and counting.
Peace,
Matt

i am totally gonna try out for them tickets. my only minor problem is gettin my parents to sign a consent form (if i get the ticket) to let me go down there, but i could get that done, hopefully. :D

my only real concern where i'll get $60 for the roundtrip greyhound bus seat thing. :freak:

I'll be there for both.

Matt, how is the Showbox for security? I've never been there before. They use metal detectors and stuff?

Sweet. I'd be willing to chip in some money towards a hotel room in Portland and/or Seattle . . . otherwise I'll be doing the "Josh spent the night on the streets without sleep" thing again.

Like I'm doing this Wednesday for Green Day.

Oy.

showbox security is strict, but to the best of my ability, they do not use metal detectors or wands. showbox setup is an open GA floor, with a raised bar area on the side and in the back that will be for the over 21 crowd.

the showbox isn't too far from the greyhound station. it took my dad and i 20 minutes to walk from the station to pike market last time we were there.

Cool. The Aladdin Theater in Portland is about 3 1/2 miles from the Greyhound, so it might take an hour or so to walk there... but I can do that, it's a weekend so I can get to Portland pretty early.

Oh that'd be sweet, I am so broke, but if we could all stay in a cheap hotel together, that'd make it so much easier.

I want to see both shows, but I don't know how to go about doing that. If I lived in Seattle it would be easier, but I have to get to Portland, then get to Seattle the next day. Any ideas? If we could find someone whose going to the Portland show and the Seattle show the next night that drives, that could be arranged.

Well, unless someone that's driving is going to make the trip from Portland to Seattle, I am planning on taking Greyhound. I'm probably going to get a 1 way ticket from Corvallis (where I live) to Portland, and will-call tickets from Portland to Seattle and Seattle back to Corvallis...

I messed around last night on greyhound.com and for some reason it comes out less expensive to do that than if I do a round trip from Corvallis to Portland and a round trip from Portland to Seattle and plan out the times appropriately.
