Dual Disk problems

Post by Venom »

Anyone else have an issue with their Dual Disk? I bought it at 7am this morning (even though I downloaded it weeks ago) and it won't fit into my CD player in my car. They are slightly thicker than a normal CD and I guess thats why. So since I only listen to disks in my car I had to give up the Dual Disk and get the CD. Anyone else have issues with it? They should have just released a double disk instead of this dual crap.

^^OMG me too.
whose brilliant idea was that.
you have to, you just have to trust me
whoever i was then i can't ever be again
the faith you've found i've never felt
the terror held in wedding bells
the comfort in "there's no one else"
the truth be told, i'm never going to know

Weird, it fit in my mom's car's cd player just fine. And sounded wonderful might I add. Toyota sound sytems = awesome.

I did have a problem with mine, though. On the DVD side, at the beginning of "Wipe That Smile Off Your Face" after about a second, and then again before "The World On A String" starts, it basically pauses... cept you can't just hit play to make it start again. You have to go back to the song menu and hit play again. :freak: I've got a Sony DVD player, too, so it should work fine. I think I'm gonna tell the band tomorrow.

Jennnny *waves* check your emails, I need to know the plan for Saturday :sugar:
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

Our local cd store only stocked the regular cd, and I think I'm glad about that...I preordered an autographed dual disc, which I'm hoping means the booklet is autographed so I can watch the dvd part once...

When I first tried to eject HIPT (DualDisc) from my CD player in my Saturn, it got kind of stuck in the player. Usually the CD comes out about half way so you can grab it and pull it out. This came out just barely enough for me to get it out. The second time I played it in the car there was no problem. Both times it played fine though. I had a similar problem with my Nine Inch Nails DualDisc (With Teeth). Probably since it's a little thicker than a regular CD.

DualDisc will have problems in lots of non-sony brand CD players because the audio is not compliant with standard audio format.

I had a problem with the dual disc in two different comps and one car system. Thankfully I can view the DVD part at home and ripped the audio to my ipod so no more worries.

Why is it thicker? Why can't they just have two discs?

Dual Disc must be cheaper than producing a DVD and a CD. That's the only reason I can see for Sony using this crap.

If they made two discs it would probably be a lot more expensive to buy.

But it would actually work, so it would be worth it.

well sony does have a history of wanting everything original for itself. minidiscs par exemple. and if a product seems shnazzy and new, a customer will want to buy it.

i was dumb about the disc and thought that "CD This Side Up" meant that the side facing me was the side my cd player should read. ehhh! wrong.
