At the risk of sounding insensitive, the first thing that came to my mind was ...

My memory is muddy
What's this river that I'm in
New Orleans is sinking, man
And I don't want to swim

But seriously, I hope everyone is able to get into shelters or out of the area before it hits...

I have a sense of humor but when I said ok be stupid I thought his joke was not funny. I do have a sense of humor, I don't know why you think its funny to bold only one link and that is foxnews.com (the best CABLE news station and you guy hate to admit it) I just don't find that funny. I do find Chanandler Bong funny though.

This storm is insane.

Hopefully it doesnt destroy new orleans.

What scares me about this is these storms get bigger, and more common everyyear.

Thank god I live in Ontario.

...HEAVY RAIN FROM REMNANTS OF HURRICANE KATRINA POSSIBLE THIS WEEK...

THE REMNANTS OF HURRICANE KATRINA WILL QUICKLY MOVE TOWARD THE AREA EARLY THIS WEEK. THERE IS STILL MUCH UNCERTAINTY IN THE PATH KATRINA WILL TAKE AFTER IT MAKES LAND FALL, AFFECTING HOW MUCH RAINFALL WE RECEIVE. AT THIS TIME, THERE ARE STRIKING DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE COMPUTER MODELS ON THE PROJECTED TRACK OF THIS STORM. THE OFFICIAL FORECAST, AS OF SUNDAY NIGHT, HAS THE REMNANTS REACHING NORTHEAST OHIO BY EARLY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. IF KATRINA FOLLOWS THIS PATH, THE REGION CAN EXPECT TO SEE RAIN DEVELOPING LATE MONDAY NIGHT AND CONTINUING THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

INITIALLY, THE HEAVIEST RAIN WILL FALL ACROSS PARTS OF EASTERN OHIO, NORTHERN WEST VIRGINIA AND SOUTHWEST PENNSYLVANIA. THEN THE AXIS OF HEAVY RAIN WILL SLOWLY SHIFT NORTHWARD, PUSHING THE HEAVIEST RAIN INTO NORTHERN OHIO AND NORTHERN PENNSYLVANIA BY WEDNESDAY. THIS FAR IN ADVANCE, EXACT RAINFALL AMOUNTS ARE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO PREDICT WITH THE REMNANTS OF HURRICANES. EARLY FORECASTS SHOW AMOUNTS OF 4 TO 6 INCHES POSSIBLE OVER A 48 HOUR PERIOD ALONG THE AXIS OF HEAVIEST RAIN. ON EITHER SIDE OF THIS AXIS, 2 TO 5 INCHES IS A GOOD BET.

THIS DEVELOPING SITUATION WITH HURRICANE KATRINA WILL NO DOUBT REMIND MANY OF LAST SEPTEMBER AND HURRICANE IVAN. THERE ARE SOME IMPORTANT DIFFERENCES, HOWEVER, BETWEEN THIS STORM AND LAST SEPTEMBER. LAST YEAR WAS A VERY WET YEAR AS WE WERE OVER 12.5 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL BY THE BEGINNING OF SEPTEMBER. COMPARE THAT TO THE 2.5 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL THIS YEAR. MOST OF THIS SUMMER HAS BEEN DRY, LEAVING STREAM AND CREEK LEVELS LOW AND THE SOIL QUITE DRY. MOREOVER, LAST YEAR BROUGHT HURRICANE FRANCIS AND ITS 3 TO 7 INCHES OF RAIN ACROSS OUR AREA JUST NINE DAYS BEFORE IVAN STRUCK.

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY THE THREAT FOR FLOODING FROM THE REMNANTS OF HURRICANE KATRINA, BUT CURRENT CONDITIONS ARE GREATLY DIFFERENT FROM LAST SEPTEMBER.

EXPECT MANY CHANGES TO THE FORECAST BEFORE WE BEGIN TO FEEL THE AFFECT FROM KATRINA. OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS WE WILL GET A BETTER HANDLE ON THE STORMS TRACK AND THE AXIS OF HEAVY RAIN. IF THIS STORM CONTINUES ON ITS PROJECTED PATH, FLOODING WILL BE A MAJOR CONCERN FOR THE AREA....

today. i was downtown my hometown. and people are still rebuilding and taking out trash bags of debris from the inside of their homes.
and now, 2 weeks shy of a year and our whole entire area is until that crazy warning.

yea. i feel bad for everyone else. this just sucks.

The newest advisory is now up above^

naveed99 wrote:This storm is insane.

It is insane, this is one of the wrost hurricanes ever!!! It has already killed 3 people in Louisiana. I''m telling you New Orleans the Mardi Gras City probably will not be the same again. They are saying tall office buildings and buildings will sway and even may collapse, all low buildings will be destoryed. All windows will be blown out anda whole more stuff. They also are saying the Meteorologists not the media that 70% of New Orleans will be flooded maybe more.

I do not know, but I can think of a 10-15ft. some areas 25ft. storm surge being like a tsunami maybe sort of. I remember hearing somewhere. That one time a hurricane hit I think New Orleans a long long time ago It didn't hurt many people, but there was snakes that came from the waves from the ocean that bit people to death because they are posinous.

They also are saying that gas prices are once again going to sore because of this hurricane because they had to clear eveyone from the oil rigs. Right now crude oil is over $70 a barrel. Also, because of the Hurricane the stock market could feel it as well later today when they open. (thats no ones fault that gas prices will sore this time around and stock market will do bad today. Blame it on the hurricane if you are that kind of person who like to blame things on people).

Stay safe everyone who is the path of it. The next advisory will be out at 5am EDT. I hope to post it. It suppose to hit landfall within a few hours from now. They are saying that this may be the storm of the century.
