BURN!!!!!!

Post by I AM ME »

Finally us Liberals have a reason to throw a good ol' fashioned book burning.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... R&st=books

it's crap like that that, for a few seconds, makes me want to kill myself. Or better yet conquer the world and inforce my views upon every man, woman, and child. I spose Right-wingers probably feel the same when they read Liberal propaganda.......I get it, that's why George Bush got the War On Iraq idea!
"How can we justify spending so much on destruction and so little on life?" Matthew Good

"The white dove is gone, the one world has come down hard, so why not share the pain of our problems, when all around are wrong ways, when all around is hurt, i'll roll up in an odd shape and wait, untill the tide has turned.....with anger, i'm dead weight, i'm anchored"- IME, God Rocket (Into the Heart of Las Vegas) ^ Some say this song is about a terrorists thoughts before 911

"Pray for the sheep" Matt Good
"But it's alright, take the world and make it yours again" Matt Good

I felt it in the wind, and i saw it in the sky, i thought it was the end, i thought it was the 4th of July.

"Hold on, hold on children, your mother and father are leaving, hold on, hold on children your best freind's parents are leaving, leaving,.......*AHHH*! " - Death From Above - Black History Month

The back of that book is possibly the worst part. Of course, I can't see any more than the first page of the inside, so it's probably way worse.

I'll gladly join your book burning.

"Until one day, a liberal appeared from behind their lemon tree. "Helllloo," the liberal's eyes grew wide as he gazed at the boys' money."

"Tax?" Tommy asked. "What is that?" "Well," the liberal's red cheeks smiled, "That is where you give the government half of your money so we can spend it better."

LIBERAL Mayor Leach has served as Mayor of Liberaland for 20 years. -- Where's LIberaland? Ontario?

Oh this is great, check this out...

"Help! Mom! There Are Liberals Under My Bed" is the book conservative parents have been seeking. This illustrated book — the first in the "Help! Mom!" series from Kids Ahead — is perfect for parents who seek to share their traditional values with their children, as well as adults who wish to give a humorous gift to a friend.

Awesome, I can't wait for the next book in the series, "Help! Mom! The homosexuals are trying to teach in my school!".

"Freeeeeeeeeeeeedom no longer frees you!" *music follows*

Sorry, that popped into my head. Anyway this book is stupid. It's like some jackass woke up on morning and said,

"Let's brainswash children so they can choose what they are told to choose and not what they believe in!"

I don't care what your political background is, I'm sure most people find crap like that offensive.

Queens Of The Stone Age-Someone's In The Wolf

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...

So glad you could stay
Forever

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..

So glad you could stay
Forever

Sure but at the same time the amount of anti Rebuplican statements the popular media throws out could be equally offensive to a republican. It's interesting that you guys get all in a huff over a book like this when there are equally insulting things thrown in the other direction. Of course no one says a word about that.

That kinda makes me wanna cry.

And Joe Cooler, I've never seen any anti-republican books aimed directly at children...

I don't know of any, but the article lists three very pro-Liberal books that are aimed at children. This is a reaction to such books.

I dislike what the book represents, but there is Liberal literature doing the same thing. Impressing beliefs upon children, removing choice is wrong, no matter who does it. Propaganda is wrong, regardless of what it's pushing.

They can't do that, can they!?!?!??!?! INTERVENTION

There is a difference between being pro something and being against something. When you are anti something, you bring in a certain emotion of dislike, or hatred. Being pro something just means you're pro it.

I don't really think either kind of literature should be exposed to children. They have to grow up in a messed up world as it is.

I never said it did. I just find it interesting that there are people on this board who are up in arms about this book but who don't bat an eye at equally offensive material directed towards Republicans.

First of all, parents are going to teach their beliefs whether there is a book about it or not. Second of all, we might as well burn the books this one is combatting as well:

Why the second one? All it is, is a tale of a Prince going to marry another prince. Fair enough 1 and 3, but two is just opening childrens eyes to the fact that some men like men, some men like women, some women like men, and some women like women. Sorry if you didn't already know :P, but it isn't something thats going to change.

Tolerance is a funny thing. You see you can get so tolerant that you become intolerant to people who are intolerant of other things. Funny that.

PS I'm going to buy that book purely for the title. It made me laugh.

I don't have a problem with it, but some people do much like the book in question for which this topic was made. The point is that these books are teaching the ideologies of different groups. If the conservative book is bad, then so are the liberal books.

I think one major difference though is that other books mentioned don't teach "These people are bad for believing ________", they just say what one group thinks is okay. And while that may be offensive to opposing groups, it isn't teaching a message of intolerance. It's one thing to say "It's okay for two men to marry eachother", and completely another to say "It's okay for two men to marry eachother, and anyone who thinks otherwise is a satanic demon who wants to kill you in your sleep".

Did anyone say that the Liberal books were any better? Children aren't meant to vote or understand politics, they are still growing up and trying to discover where they stand in the world. They don't need a book with pretty pictures telling them that some political party which means absolutley nothing to them at this point in life, is bad.

I buy that. (a little overboard with your closer though).

I also noticed that the "No, George, No" book doesn't seem to be technically marketed towards children, though I wouldn't be surprised if it was used as such.
