TORONTO -- Black smoke is billowing from a passenger jet that skidded off a runway at Pearson Airport in Toronto.

Police said an Air France Airbus 340 was trying to land when it ran into trouble and burst into flames."

i JUST found out just now that one of my friends returning from croatia was on that plane...i'm so glad she's okay :uh::uh::uh:

This is such a good news that it all end up okay! I am so happy.....it's rare that tragedies turns up to be alright!!!!!!!!!!

I was at the airport when that happened. The weather was crazy - I have no idea why they let the plane land. The smoke was really horrible smelling. And then they set up a room in the hotel I was in for the people on the plane to go so it was all crazy. And when I checked into the other hotel I spent the night in the people behind me just were wearing blankets and had nothing with them as they'd been on that flight. I can't believe how incredibly lucky they all were. The first things we saw on tv were when it was all ablaze and you just couldn't see any of the people, so waiting to hear was awful - with it all so close.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.
