So i'm watching it right now... things are insane. Arcade fire and alexisonfire had very solid performances and jamie kennedy's been smoking pot. i feel sorry for sarah.

i've been watching since the 7:30 red carpet special. ashlee simpson was painful as always and too bad kalan porter got that peoples' choice award, what a bitch.

OKAY RECAP OF EVERYTHING.

Cone and Stevo of sum41 arrived in lil carts with harajuku girls that they claim to have stolen from gwen stefani.

ashlee simpson was fucking painful, i am not joking you

billy talent and k-os won many awards

k-os refused to speak prior to his performance, at all

death from above 1979 won 2 awards

billy talent arrived in a tank

rockstars were MUCHLY intoxicated.

arcade fire fuckin ruled. their performance was unbelievable

as i said before jamie kennedy was supposed to present nominees for something when he said something like 'canada's my favourite city' and sarah (the vj) was like 'i think you're getting a bit confused'; then he took out a joint and thanked ben mulroney, the prime minister, for legalizing pot.

(ben mulroney's not the PM, and pot is not legal)

all in all it was pretty crazy.

some guy ran on stage during the black eyed peas, and you can see him getting beat down by security. best part of the night.

carmen electra was super hot.

and wasn't jared leto supposed to be there????? he was the one person i was looking forward to and he wasn't there.

but if you look at brandon's face during their performance, i'm sure it's just the lighting but his skin is the brassy colour of one of those jergens bronzing lotion commercials. really really harsh tone.

eh. Much has sold out. There used to be antics throughout the whole thing and no one really cared who won. Now they 'interview' the presenters and all this. Its lost its edge.

Ironically, I watched it though, and you guys were saying that Jared Leto wasn't there, and there was no presenter for the muchvibe award. I suspect he didn't show and they didn't have anyone to fill in for him.

Speaking of which, where were Hannah and Jenn?

I want Much Music to be back in the USA. I liked that station much better than MTV and MTV2. MTV they have music videos on not until like 3am and the music videos they usually have on at that time usually suck.

Does anyone if MTV did anything to own VH1. I don't think so but they are really simillar.

I was wondering the same thing too, Sarah. Cuz Jenn and Hannah were there during the pre-show (red carpet/less important awards) and they disappeared during the actual show. ehh.

and yeah no one really cared who won what.

i remember there was this one girl in the crowds and she was crying big boohoos because she met Kalan Porter. i was just.. wow. :uhh:

oh. and rick campanelli had on a shirt with a picture of his baby on it. awww.

also, i think the MuchVibe award (as well as the Best French video, best cinematography, etc) was covered during the pre-show.

MTV2 and MTV Canada were sold to CHUM in December. They will be re-branded on June 30th. Who knows what will happen to them after that.

That should be intresting, I know CHUM owns the alternative rock radio station 89X and that my is favorite station (It playes OLP, and a bunc of other great artists). I think this might be a good move. I can see the normal MTV having like hip-hop and crappy music like that and MTV 2 having rock and alternative rock good music like that.
