I can't say i'm surprised. Afterall, this is also a nation which hinders stemcell research, something that could cure many now incurable and cruelly incapacitating diseases.

Wow. That's really stupid. It's harmless really. It's being used for medicinal purposes. They might as well ban morphine. It was invented to get people off of heroine, which was made to get people off of opium. Morphine is addictive and deadly if too much is used. Cannibis, not addictive and not deadly but relieves pain. Hm, smart call by the Bush admin.

Perhaps Reno would provide some insight on this since he seems to have some knowledge on the war on drugs.

Pure craziness.
As Rusty says, there is no sense in banning the medical use of marijuana when morphine is used all the time. grrrrr

Dear Sinead,
Smart and Bush always belong in the same sentence when sarcasm is involved.
Sexually yours,
Rusty.

morphine used in moderation under supervised dosages helps.
marijuana isn't controled and cannot be supervised or the dosage regulated. that's the problem here as compared to morphine.

the dosage of morphine when administered at home by a patient in pain cant be controlled either

I always like Justice John Paul Stevens, or whatever his name is.
(he's one of the ones who said it could be used for medical purposes, I think) (if not, then he's dumb, but still, he has made me happy in the past)
(*backs out of topic*)
Anyway, that's dumb, though.

they actually allow patients to bring morphine home? even if that is the case, don't they have machines to lock you out so you don't OD on it?

depends on the pain levels
and im assuming they would have to be administered in a controlled fashion but i dunno how exactly

wouldn't it be through an IV? if so they have a machine that allows certain dosages at certain intervals, and it will lock you out when it's been to close since your last dosage.

too close yes but if you are suffering greatly i think you can "take another shot" before its time to actually have that shot administered

there ARE morphine pills that doctors let surgery patients take home. after i had my ACL reconstructed, my parents got a tiny little bottle of .05mg pills.

but in terms of the pain one would have to be in for a doc to prescribe marijuana, those pills wouldnt do anything
