Apparently the warmer water in the gulf is more conducive to powerful hurricanes than before.

Some forecasters are saying that it might be a cycle that the waters are warmer. That there are cycles that the waters are cooler. The hurricanes love warm waters, the live in warm waters and that is what the strive on.

it saddens me that all the focus is on katrina. how about niger? how bout afghanistan? how about south korea, north korea? how about the suppressed civilians of china? how about the children of iraq? how about the suppressed woman of saudi arabia?

all the media focuses on a 1st world country, and not a 3rd world country in need.

this intrested me when I read this by the user "Driven" on Clumsy Congress it said:

"Healthy in Paranoid Times came out when the whole Katrina thing happen? I mean, it just makes listening to the CD creepy.

Reasons:

1. The title of the album
2. Raine using lyrics that often times has to do with Africa (a comparable situation)
3. Bill O'Reilly just used the words "The calm before the storm"

You could use the whole CD as a soundtrack for the whole situation:

the key thing is what does society want as interesting? do we really want to be brain-dead 1984 robots who walk around with our eyes closed? or do we want to do something, to feel something, to be something?

Is not fucking Bush fault so don't fucking blame this on him. This is what I'm saying everyone wants to blame someone that what we do in this country and its pethetic. It was 4 days because today they brung in releif and some reports say that the people might all be evacuated tonight which I don't think will happen because there is so many people still.

You cannot blame a natural disaster on a human being. It isnt his fault the hurricane happened. I blame him(or really, those working under him) for the lack of aid effort. This is AMERICA. The worlds super power. And people are still dying in the streets 5 days later? I don't think so.

When I said I didn't blame bush I was meaning I don't blame him for th ehurrican happening. I do have to say though that I am ashamed to call myslef an AMERICAN now.

we are one of the richest nations int he world. Yet we are letting people die. It is horrible.> A lot of leaders in Harlem said it is cause people are black or poor white people. It shouldn;'t matter what status in life you have. People need help. We shouldnt'; turn our backs on them when they need us most.

They thought it was going to hit land as a cat 3 hurricane, which the levees and the area in general were well equipt to hold up under. They weren't ready for a cat 5 to hit at all.

That was a huge storm.

One thing really scares me, is that these will become more common, and more powerful in the future, because of Global Warming.

And We're not doing anything about it!!
