Stace wrote:So, what is the meaning of life besides 42?

Okay, before I get into the meaning of life, let's explain the "42" for those who are like: :wtf: So here we gooooooooo....... Although I know some of you know about this! :heythere:

Douglas Adams wrote a book called The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. In that book, a race of pandimensional beings posing as white laboratory mice built a gigantic computer named Deep Thought, it was so smart that even before it's memory and data cells were activated it said "I think therefore I am" and got as far as deducing the existence of rice pudding and income tax before anyone managed to turn it off. Sound weird yet!?!?!?

Anyway, the beings asked the computer for the answer to the meaning of life and after calculating for seven million years, it told them that the Answer was "Forty-two"... So the beings built an even larger computer to find out what the answer was.

NOW!!! Regarding the answer 42, I guess it's believed that it was a puzzle, simply bypassed and not included in any Douglas Adams writings. It's just an outside theory that it's symbolic. How??? Well, it's believed that if you turn the number 42 upside down and backwards, you get the number 2 and the letter b. Or "TO BE." Never having confirmed a connection in his writings, this answer was only theoretical.

So do you think the answer to: "What is the meaning of life?" is "TO BE."

It damn well might just be. That's all I've been doing with my life. Just being. So I'm hoping I figured it out a long time ago.

Surprisingly enough this thread has been dead for 4-5 months and Stace just had to go and revive it!!! Well Stace you better read my answer!!!!

Until next time,

This is Uncle Lando signing off.

Oops! I gave credit to the wrong person, it was Jon that revived this thread!

And yes Jon, I'm deeply, madly in love with you. Let's have babies. They might look weird and be really hairy with extra new unheard of body parts, but that's okay, I'm up for it as long as you're willing to be the bearer of the children.

umm, they built an even larger computer to find out what the question was, to which the answer was 42.

lol yeah, that's why i said the meaning of life was makeshift scrabble, because arthur dent tries to teach the primate natives of beeblebrox scrabble and the natives throw a couple of words on the board and the words "forty two" appear on it. the natives see it and freak out. i don't remember it too well though

oops sorry for not CLARIFYING! SHEEEEESH!

Sure there are other 42 reasons, but that's not the one I explained! You scrabble heads! Nobody wants to hear about the scrabble. It has wood pieces. and mama always said wood is the devil.

A little while ago, not sure of the date, perhaps even last night. You left your phone in a place where little kids and animals had easy access to it.

Sure, I know you're thinking "But I thought it was the Gnomes!"

Unfortunately no. The gnomes would have been great, you probably have damage by them covered by your warranty, but it was dropped down some stairs or thrown into a wall. I can't tell you who did it though. You'd then go on a murderous rampage, not even stopping at the one who's guilty. For all you know, it was you when you were piss drunk. I'm not confirming anything though. So don't pull out the weapons and start attacking the mirror just yet!

You certainly will. In fact, you'll have a minimum score of 73%!

The answer to this spans back as far as the ancient times. However, to understand why, you don't need to know all that.

People, unlike vacuums can also spit things up. Oh, nevermind I know what you meant now...

Most people who have problems in their own lives like to belittle others to make themselves feel superior or I guess satisfied in their own way. A lot of time this makes people build up an ego, which in fact is really like a wall or shell, if you will. Basically shielding their trueselves from everyone else.

This helps them keep their feelings and emotions balanced so that they always feel at least somewhat satisfied... (on the outside at least) Often enough the real emotions will arise and cause problems for the people. Subconsciously it makes them feel better about themselves, without caring about anyone else. It really has to deal with selfishness also.

Anyway,

Now whenever you see some jackass making fun of someone "different" or "not cool" or hurting people just for the sake of doing it. You know they're the really screwed up ones. Either that or they're evil... Eeeeeevil I tells ya.

But look at it like this. YOU have a choice with these people who "suck". You can either laugh at them because you now know that they're the real losers. Or you pity them.

I'm not saying that either one of those is the right answer. In this case, maybe there isn't a right or wrong answer.
