Aaaarrrrrgh. For the last time: it's NOT a children's book! It was NEVER aimed at children! It was just marketed that way!
Sorry, had to get that of my chest. It's so annoying when people call it a children's book. If you don't like Potter, that's fine. I don't mind. Just don't call it a children's book. Thank you.
So sorry, it's just that everytime I walk into a bookstore I tend to find Harry Potter right next to Pokemon. Sorry, I get confused sometimes. Now, try to tell me that Pokemon isn't a children's thing "it's just marketed that way", and I'll have to shoot you. Also, I don't consider books with a reading age comprehension level between the ages of 9-12 to be aimed at anyone other than pre-teen 'audiences'. Sorry, instead of refering to it as a 'childrens' series, I shall now refer to it as a 'pre-teen' series.

No, I'm not actually going to shoot you. I'm too lazy. Please don't take it literally, or personally for that matter.
you are the one with the cartoon in your sig

You retard. First off, Ranma 1/2, the so-called "cartoon" you speak of contains a substancial amount of nudity in it. Considering it is a very perverted series, I'm gonna say it is not aimed at 'pre-teen' audiences.
You win the prize!

Stupid.

ummm...right.
Anywho, I have two versions of each Harry Potter book, the American version and the British version. I got the first two American books secondhand, the third from my parents and bought the fourth. As for the British books, I got the first at Whistler, the second in Ottawa, third in Toronto and the fourth in Saint John.
I'm debating preordering book five from Amazon.ca because it's only 25.80 CDN with 1.99 shipping...I just realized if I get that, I can avoid getting the American version until it comes out in paperback. Then I'll get 'em both for un
I actually didn't start reading the books until after the third one came out. And the only reason I have the British versions is because I saw 'em in Whistler and they looked cool. I like to keep my books, and these seem like cool collectors' items as well. I've got no other merchandise and didn't even like the first movie that much.

That's right! I'm a big kid now!

Anyway, the point I was getting at was that the 'cartoon' was aimed at a more mature audience, than let's say....preteens (audiences 10-13). Actually, it's anime, not a cartoon. Not that it makes me more 'mature', just a bit more politically correct.
You Harry Potter fans are all nerds and will burn in nerd HELL! Oh wait, I'm an anime fan. So I will see you all in nerd hell! MuwahahahahahahahaHA!

Ya know, you people (directed at the people in this thread with over 2000 posts) need to drop the elitist tones. You started this board to not be elitist fucks like the CC, and guess what, that's exactly what you are. Just because some one has an opinion varying from your own, you give her shit. Way to try and keep the board to a certain 20-30 members posting. Try a little harder to scare EVERY SINGLE NEW PERSON from the board, and maybe you'll succeed.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.
