I don't want to give too much away...

Kahlan just turned VERY white, with a sword hilt between her breasts.

That should be vauge enough to confuse people. And sexy enough to entice some horny teen boys into reading it. :D

^ Sweet fancy moses

I bought Pillars Of Creation on monday and I just finished reading it. I dunno if you've read it yet Brent, but the plot doesn't turn to any familiar characters (except for a brief appearance by Nathan) until about the 660th page. However, Goodkind manages to make up for all that with the ending

Wow. That's all I have to say. Wow.

Okay, so I have more to say...

Spoiler (black text):

Richard is now at the palace. He just made Pasha run away crying. I'm surprised they haven't already flipped out on him and used the collar.
Oh, and I'm wondering if maybe the Prelate is along with the Keeper...? Seems like that would screw Richard over really well, which looks like the way these books are headed.
I'm also really glad that Verna came back to Richard with the lock of hair. At least now he might think of her in a loving way every once in a while.

Seriously, this book just gets better.

It was a little slow when they were travelling to the palace, but now that they're there, it's great!

I'm happy that:

(Spoiler)Richard's figured out why Kahlan "sent him away". It was really sad when he sent Gratch away. Especially when he started into the whole "Graaatch luuuurg Raaach aarg". But then Richard realized that he'd sent Gratch away almost word for word to the way Kahlan sent him away. Now he understands.
And Zedd's lost his memory, Kahlan's hiding, waiting for Zedd to come back and Richard's finding out about being a war wizard. Yikes.

i read about 100 pages of the first book in this series.

i hated it. i thought it was predictable. and personally, the characters grate on my nerves. whatever happened to tough, epic hero types?

eh?

Predictable? Maybe in the first 100 pages... Trust me, it gets much better later on in the book.

But hey, not everyone's going to like it (even though they should).

If I wasn't so captivated by Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series (I'm on Book 4: The Shadow Rising), I would be going out to buy Pillars of Creation. But I think I can manage two books at the same time.

my main problem with the Jordan series is, i don't think he will ever actually end the series. the first three, and the ninth book, are best, because they have the most to do with actually building towards a climax.

AX: c'mon. like you couldn't see the old mentor figure being the "all powerful wizard" from the second the two were mentioned? there were some other things that irked me too.. if i don't grab ahold of one of the characters right away then i can't stay with the book. but oh well, like you said, different strokes for different folks. (actually you didn't say that)

I litterally just finished the second book, and BotF is waiting on my desk. I had 20 or so pages of SoT left, so I read them and came online to tell you that I'd finished it.

I'm glad that (spoiler) Gratch is back. It just seems right. And also that (spoiler) Richard and Kahlan got the chance to make ammends.

I'll probably start BotF later tonight.

So, Alex, you wanna play a little game? You kiss any part of me and I'll kiss you back in the same spot. ;)

wtf? There's no winking guy anymore...

BotF is seriously disturbing. You're gonna want to kick a couple characters in face cause their stupid ignorance and cruelty is annoying as FUCK. Which is obviously the point and therefore is highly commendable

 I really should read that book again. I don't remember a lot about it. Although I read all those books over a period of one year, reading every day. So to me, the events of those books are all one book, and I can't really remember specific things from specific books, other than the main plots in each.

BotF is going a little slow. There isn't a lot going on. Well, at least not as much as the first two books had by now.

(Spoiler) Richard's just given his huge speech to all of the Midlands' most powerful people, about trying to get rid of the Imperial Order. The way he's doing it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I mean, he could have gone to save Kahlan and see what she could think of to do. I mean, if Lord Rahl, a man born in Westland who just came and found out that he now rules D'Hara, came to the Midlands and said he was taking over, I'm almost certain that they could stop him.
I can't wait to see how it turns out...
