I'm sure it sounded great. But yeah, I've gotta agree that'd be a weird opener.

I'd like 'em to do Life and no more of this song hybrid crap. Though, it might not sound that great with just one guitar.

I think it could sound awesome with one guitar. They could slow/quiet it down and just go with the single-note picking during the verses and chorus..

I haven't tried it on guitar, but it works on the piana!

I wish they would rotate more of the singles so that they're played maybe 50-70% rather than 95% of the time to allow more time in the set for variety. I would say Starseed, Naveed, and Superman's Dead are the only songs that they MUST PLAY at each and every show.

I think Clumsy should be a staple, too. And btw, I love the list you made. I edited it a bit to narrow it down to what I want!

Life does sound really good on piano, I have to admit that.

Oh, I'd love to hear just "Life" all by itself finally.

They brought back Supersatellite in St. John's!

They should try doing Life on piano, a la Julia. Unless they already did and I'm oblivious?
I did up sheet music for it a few years back and posted it here, i think. Or i tried but it wouldn't accept that file type or something. I'm not sure.

I was going to add that in there, no lies, except I thought they played it quite often anyways.

I don't really consider it a must. I would have them play it maybe 1/2 the time, and switch in other mellow songs such as Are You Sad, Apology, Al Genina, or Thief the rest of the time. Sure, you won't get sing-alongs with those songs. But Are You Sad and Thief have been sadly overlooked these last few years...

Well "Thief" was played on their live 2006 DVD that came with A Decade. I must say, it didn't sound like the original recording though. Much less percussion/beat and more acoustic. It was still cool though.

Yeah but they only played it infrequently after 2001, and only the one time at Massey Hall after 2003. :P

So, Josh! I was looking at the hubsite to try to see how many times I've had the pleasure of seeing "Thief" live, and I noticed the feature where we put in which shows we went to is gone. What happened? :(

PS. Lots of broken scripty stuff, too. :uhh:

I forget what happened to it... but something happened and I had to remove it or the data was lost or some such.

If the band wants to be AWESOME on this tour they could use some sort of formula like this to create setlists of about 20 songs which is a bit longer than average for them but whatevs:

Set recipe:

5 new songs

5 of the following hits:
Starseed
Naveed
Superman's Dead
Clumsy
One Man Army
In Repair
Somewhere Out There
Angels/Losing/Sleep

1 each from the following 6 groups:

group #1
The Birdman
Supersatellite
Julia

group #2
Automatic Flowers
Carnival
Car Crash

group #3
Thief --> Potato Girl
Blister
Lying Awake

group #4
Life
Middle of Yesterday

group #5
Innocent
Not Enough
A Story About a Girl

group #6
Where Are You?
Boy --> Will the Future Blame Us?
Don't Stop

Encore recipe:

1 each from the following 4 groups:

something old
Dirty Walls
Hello Oskar
Consequence of Laughing
Everyone's a Junkie

something new
latest single

something borrowed
a cover, duh

something blue
