Ontario Pitt Bull Ban

see. i don't see the point in banning a certain breed. it depends on their owners. if they train them right they wouldn't be so vicious. today for example i was walking to work and this dog almost attacked me. my heart almost jumped out of my chest til i realized he was on a leash cause it was so damn long. but even with the leash on it was a good 2 feet from me. and it was just a huge skinny dog. since i could of gotten attacked if not for the leash, should i say lets ban all huge scary dogs. no. it's the owners responsibility to train the dogs so they don't attack humans. you can't ban a whole breed just cause of a few bad ones.

My dog has a problem with people being on bikes, roller blades, skateboards, or just plain jogging. Otherwise he's sweet and gentle as long as you don't move too fast otherwise he get's nervous and thinks you're coming to attack him or my family.

all dogs can be vicious .. a german shepard that was being trained as a police search and rescue dog, mauled and killed a 5 year old boy .. should we ban german shepards too? my dog bit my mom's ankle tonight .. fucking brat :lol:

should we kill him? basically, all dogs can be mean, all dogs can be vicious ... banning a breed isn't going to solve the problem .. it's what the goverment thinks is a 'quick fix' instead of actually spending time on solving the actual issue at hand .. which is owners abusing/mistreating their dogs.

like joey said, my pup used to nip ppl all the time (hence her name nippy) but does that make her a vicious animal? fuck no.. the most vicious thing shes ever done (other than biting me (not hard however) when i deserved it.. long story that i'll explain in pm or thru aim, icq, etc) was she once attacked and successfully (after much fear and trepidation) killed (and dismembered) a wasp (she was scared of the wings even after the wasp was dead.. so much so she ate them.. and then hid under the table)

if the ontario govt does not take the time to do its research and do the proper thing now.. what happens next summer if a dog of another breed (with a dumbass owner) goes out and kills someone or other dogs?
do we ban that breed too?
where do you draw the line?
when all dogs are banned?

Pitbulls now, but Rottweilers will be next. They're another "Vicious" breed. :roll:

I grew up with two rottweilers and a lab, and my rotties were sweet.
Its all in the ownership. Instead of banning the breed, lets ban negligent owners.

she had it coming .. she was harrassing him and sort of shoving his butt and she did it like 5 times until he spun around and nipped her ankle .. it was pretty funny.

there's no argument that all dogs have the ability to be vicious, but stastically pit bulls have been reported more often in cases of animal attack. im sure u can get teh sats from any humane society
