when i was in gr 2 i was sick for about a week, and then i came back and everyone was obsessed with the word "it"... it took me forever to figure out what this mysterious "it" was, but even then i didn't really know the specifics... until i learned what oral sex was during the paul bernardo trial. no one would tell me what it was so i looked it up.
That was 1994, 95-ish. Now, my family's really conservative, and we lived in the Middle East for a while, so I was always behind in that sense.

What really gets me is that none of the girls even really seem to *like* sex. It's like they're sexualised for the purposes of others... what about them? Actually, it's nauseating. I'd freak out if someone stopped to pull out a bloody tooth.
Basically, what I'm *trying* to say for girls like your niece, and boys too, is that they need to feel more in control of their lives, more connected with the rest of the world.
