Exactly. The 15gig is $399 Can. Plus $60 for the case, plus $40 for the cable, plus (optionally) $60-70 for the in-line remote. Plus tax. Plus $100 for the 3 year "come in and we'll just give you a new one over the counter" warranty.

...and because of the price, I probably won't get one. Just way too much money.

dont want to make a new thread, ao i'll ask in here.

a) how exactly does the i-pod battery work?
I'm assuming it just comes with a charger that i can plug in anywhere....?
also how long does it take to charge?

b) is it complicated to rip music straight from a cd onto an i-pod? hopefully not....

I bought an Ipod about a month ago and I absolutely love it. Rob if I were you you could just buy a firewire card for your pc for around 10 bucks and it transfers MUCH faster than usb. And as far as cases go I got a 3rd party one for around 15 dollars, and I enjoy it more than the official case.

My Ipod battery lasts around 7-8 hours, All batteries will die eventually not just the iPods but out of safety sake avoid 1st generaton ones.
