what are you talking about?. It really wasn't the same as this one. I was going to print this and send it to OLP.net, OLP.com and maybe their management company to pass along to the band for real. I know that there are other fans there who want to see a song done, but for whatever reason the band isn't doing. That is why I started this thread.

Besides I can't tell you how many times I have seen threads done on the same topic. This thread was a legit poll.

but that being the case. What songs would you guys like to see dropped from the set and kept in the set?

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

Must Keep:
Birdman
Naveed
Starseed
Superman's Dead
4AM (with Raine singing every so often :freak: )

Should Keep:
Clumsy
One Man Army
In Repair (they don't play it enough as is, but when they do, it's awesome)
Not Enough
Somewhere Out There (hey, I gotta be realistic here)

If they keep one song only (obviously not going to happen, but), it absolutely must be Naveed (BY ITSELF).

Everything else they play now (All For You, Is Anybody Home?, etc.) are all great, but shouldn't be musts every night, especially with a new album coming out with possible a whole lot of new material.

Must Go:
Innocent
Do You Like It
Our Time is Fading (probably will go anyway)
Naveed/Life (actually, I think they should split them up and play both full songs, Naveed/Life is fantastic but it's had its run)

The time has come for OLP to extend their set once again. They need to probably add at least 3-4 new slots to their set.

However, I want to see some variation! Variation! Variation! I've never even seen OLP and their setlist for this past tour was far too predicatable.

For example, take out One Man Army one night and play Is Anybody Home?. The next night, remove Not Enough and play All For You. Do something completely out of the blue and take out Clumsy to play something like Car Crash or Julia ( :wtf: :freak:   ). You aren't going to please everybody, so might as well please the hardcore guys. Who cares if 12 year old Polly doesn't hear Somewhere Out There? NOT I!

But obviously (sorry guys) their show needs to be longer for the upcoming tour.

DROP:
Superman's Dead (Oh, come on, please.)
All For You (self-explanatory)

Those are the first 2 songs that just popped into my mind.

Drop Superman's Dead? what have you been smoking?

anyways here's what I think it's somewhat along the lines of what makaveli was saying...

STAPLES
Superman's Dead
Starseed
Naveed
Clumsy
Birdman
4am

MAYBE's (staples that can be taken out every once in while to make room for something special)
One Man Army
In Repair
Thief
Somewhere Out There
Is Anybody Home

REGULAR ROTATIONS (songs that are changed around nightly/weekly/whatever)
Innocent
Right Behind You
Automatic Flowers

Songs that should be added at some point
Julia
Car Crash
Blister
Potato Girl
Story About a Girl
Stealing Babies
Wonderful Future

I know this list seems rather screwed up... it kinda is cause half way through I realized that they'd have to make room for new songs from the new album... either way these are all songs that I think should be played so I guess thats really my only point to this post...

Songs I can deal with leaving the setlist

Our Time Is Fading
And to be honest, a lot of you will disagree, but I wouldn't mind if Clumsy left the setlist...

To tell you the truth, I think Clumsy was always better on album than live.

It's missing the "ooo-ooo-woo-ooh" in the chorus when Raine says "you will be safe in here".

Also, Mike's sing-songy guitar in the second verse is the best part of the song and it never came off as such live.

So yeah, I guess I can agree.

If there were like 2 songs from each album that they played all the time then that alone would be 12 songs. plus a couple of more from their newest album (15) a few more songs from other recent work (18) one or two rare songs and the set is full. It would be amazing if they played all kinds of songs from their first four records but that doesn't seem very realistic. Logically, they would want to play singles too because thats how they are recognized. So as much as I would die to hear neon crossing going into carnival and then annie - it doesn't look like its going to happen.

umm... well first off 5x2 is 10... unless of course you want the live album to count which doesn't make a whole lot of sense since we're talking about their sets for their live shows...

secondly we were asked what we wanted to hear. Obviously we're not asking for bohemian rhapsody's done by including 20 OLP songs into one big song. It's pretty well a given that they will combine two songs together to make one just as they've done in the past with Birdman/Carnival, Naveed/Life, etc. simply because it's difficult to get every song into a set, especially since they have a large repetoire of music to selct from.

Most of the songs that have been mentioned in the list have been played by OLP at one time or another since Steve joined, so really it is pretty realistic.

PLAY CARNIVAL!!!1
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

If you count Our Time is Fading and Whatever as being off of live, then what she said makes sense...

Do they still play Annie often? (I've only seen them once so I wouldn't know)

I'm already reading the topic Gail, I read about 90% of CM and CC. I always have.

I take messages to management and the band about what's going on all the time. Management is on the .net team as well as the band. There's really no need to send the same message to 40 different people.

The band is VERY aware that the fans have their own ideas on what they like to see in setlists and on albums and everything else. They do take everything into account when they're working on things. Not everything can be done. Just because the suggestion isn't followed doesn't mean that it was ignored. I gotta say I kinda resent the implication that I don't pass along info.

We've set up many ways for people to send in suggestions about pretty much anything. I was just saying to my friend the other day that I wish more legitimate suggestions came in (as opposed to OLP should come play in my backyard). When we did the video treatment contest we were amazed at how few people participated and put a lot of thought into their entries. We did "Ask Steve" more than once and we barely had enough good questions to finish the article. Sure we can start running contests where people just enter their name and email but quite frankly they're boring and we're looking for ways to give the "real fans" a chance to win since we often hear people complain about that.

That being said we would love new suggestions for stuff any of you would like to see including poll topics. We're a pretty creative bunch but sometimes even we run out of ideas. Anything you'd like to suggest can be sent to suggestions@ourladypeace.net

they have to play what a majority of the people who are there want to here. Not for people such as us who have seen them 5-10 times. The set list will be mostly new songs, and then some singles. That is what a majority of people want to here despite us. Perhaps they can add 1 or 2 old songs but bands dont tend to play over an hour and half anymore so they are limited on time.

I never said you don't pass along the information. I know you work very hard. I was talking to Rob. I made another thread just as a curiousity to this one. I said to him I would pass this along to you(.net) cause I know you are the one who does the work at .net as suppose to someone else. If you took it the wrong way then I am sorry and apologize. I also don't understand why you would resent me saying I was going to send this to you. I always see at the bottom send suggestions. I know when we send suggestions to .net it goes to you.

I only wrote that cause I see how people keep saying they wish the band would do this, or do that. I never said anything about suggestions being ignored. I said we should pass along to you, or .com cause I hadn't seen anything on the board about it. That is all. I remember my friends telling me when Pearl Jam toured last time how they did songs at their shows that fans requested on an online poll. I thought that would be interesting if OLP could maybe do the same thing with a few of their older songs.(tht hadn't been done in a very long time) That is why I made this thread and was going to send it to you as a suggestion.

As for other suggestions I can think of half a dozen. I just don't send them in. Quite honestly I always felt that if I sent in something it would be ignored cause it was from me. That is why I never send in anything.

There is no need to now. . If you read Stace's post to me-She wrote she reads the CM and CC. She is aware so it would be pointless to send it in now.
