Clumsy - Heard Clumsy on 89x and loved it
Happiness- Bought it teh day it came out
Naveed
SM- Also bought this when it first came out
Gravity =( (Expected so much more, but still bought it on the day it was released)
Live
What I felt before was wrong, I told myself all along, these familiar feelings take away the pain. And with this reason to rebel, I told you how I felt, you turned and sighed and said you couldn't feel a thing for me. And I lost another wish in all of this.

OK, ready for a crazy, dumb order? Here goes:

Clumsy (1997 - friend bought it, didn't like it, and sold it to me cheap cos I knew & loved "SD" & "Clumsy" cos I had influenced her to buy it, and was jealous of her for buying it before me... haha... score!)

Naveed (1998ish - loved Clumsy, ordered Naveed online... listened to it once without really paying attention, so didn't realize it's a freaking amazing album. *kicks self*)

Happiness... (1999 - got it not long after it came out, and did the same stupid thing with it that I did to Naveed. *kicks self again*)

Gravity (2002, only a few weeks after it was released - loved "SOT" and was gonna finally see the band live for the first time, so I picked it up... I actually did the same thing to this as Naveed & Happiness, but thankfully saw them live, so gave all the albums a billion more listens after that.)

Spiritual Machines (2002 - yeah, this is the part where my order got stupid... cos yeah, I bought this only after seeing them live... god, I'm glad I went to that concert. I would've never given OLP another chance had I not... cos I'm a moron.)

Live (2003 - got it the day it came out, of course!)

Oh yeah, happy 1 year OLP live anniversary for me! *throws party*

For me it was...

1. SM when it first came out,
2. after digging SM, I bought Clumsy
3. Then I picked up Naveed,
4. Then Happiness...
5. then Gravity when it was released
6. and Live when it was released

SM is what sold me on OLP.
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

Lemme see if I remember.

-A friend had me download Is Anybody Home, Superman's Dead, and Automatic Flowers 2 1/2 years ago. Then she gave me burned copies of their first four albums.
-Sometime later I was shopping and decided to get one of the albums. I chose Clumsy because at $12 it was the cheapest one (the rest were like $15-$20).
-I got Gravity the day it came out.
-Then I got Spiritual Machines as a present.
-I ordered Happiness and then Naveed online.
-Then I bought Live the day it came out.

Lemme see here....

Bought Clumsy at a garage sale right after it came out.
Gravity after hearing SOT.
Naveed after I had downloaded every OLP song.
Happiness... at my cottage last summer.
SM for my 16th birthday.
Live the day it came out.
Some of you probably think I left. But was I ever here to start?

I'm bored and I feel like making long explanations for each one. My god, i'm pathetic..:freak:

First - Gravity
*sigh* I'm not particularly proud of this. I consider myself a pre-Gravity OLP fan. I was in a record store (Music World I believe), and my friend suggested Gravity, saying that it was a good album. I remembered liking a lot of old OLP. I had all kinds of pre-Gravity songs on burned mix cds and stuff, but for some stupid reason I had never bought any pre-Gravity (gee, i'm using this phrase a lot) albums. And I sorta liked Somewhere Out There (which was the current single at the time) and I had heard All For You which I really liked. So I bought it. I enjoyed it, but I wasn't completely amazed by it. But luckily this led me to buy...

Second - Clumsy
I bought this not much after I bought Gravity (in Music World i believe). I got it because I loved all the singles I'd heard and it was I suppose the most recognized one (besides Gravity). I remembered loving Superman's Dead when it came out (i was only 10 or so) which to this day is still my favourite OLP song. I loved the album and listened to it constantly. It's still my favourite OLP album.

Third - Spiritual Machines
I bought this at a Sunrise in Toronto when I was there sometime last year. They were having a 2 cds for $20 sale. I bought it (along with something else which i forget now) and loved it. I actually loved it more though after I had been separated from it, as I lost it on an airplane, along with 20 or so other CDs. God, that was horrible.

Fourth - Happiness...
I asked for both Happiness and Naveed for Christmas last year. I unfortunately only got Happiness, but I really loved it anyways. But I only got to listen to it a few times since I lost it on that plane trip too.

Fifth - Naveed
I got this (from Music World) not long after I got home after losing my CDs (sometime in January/February). I didn't really feel like buying them all back yet (this would come later). I wasn't expecting too much, but I absolutely loved it. It was amazing and is the CD i'm currently listening to the most. So cool.

Sixth - Happiness (again)
I rebought it from another Sunrise 2 for $20 sale.

Seventh - Clumsy (again)
I rebought it from Future Shop.

Eighth/Ninth - SM/Gravity (again)
Asked for and received for birthday.

Tenth - Live
Day it came out (Music World).

...Wow, I wonder if anyone actually read that. :freak: If you did, sorry for wasting your time.

I have a very strange order now that I think about it...

1-Gravity (sigh) I really wanted SM for my birthday one year. I kept saying I wanted the Our Lady Peace album, and when I didn't get SM from anyone else my sister thought she was being really cool getting me their latest album insted. I thought it was alright, and knew they had more songs I liked.

2-Clumsy When OLP came to town I had to get at least another album so I got clumsy. This was mainly because another friend of mine had it and recommended it.

3- Spiritual Machines. Yeah I finally got it. I think for a while I had forgotten about it and then someone on a message board (not CM ) said something about the song "are you sad" and so I had to get it then.

4-Naveed At that point I just wanted another OLP album and they had it in music world! lol! I had actually heard a few songs live and downloaded so I picked that one up next.

5-Happiness... Not too long after Naveed, I completed my collection. This was surprisingly hard to find though. I downloaded a lot of the album but wanted the CD. I ended up getting a store to order it in :P

6- Live ...I really wanted to get this the first day it came out. To refresh your memories, it came out the 24th. my birthday being the 25th I had to wait another day. I was concidering buying another copy in secret that day so I could hear it...that didnt work.

Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.
