I can't wait to see what happens at the next Olympic games, where countries are supposed to come together and compete on friendly terms, no matter what their political stance may be. There is going to be a lot of small-mindedness on both sides of this. For example, if they were to be held in the US, do you think they'd let France come, even though they won't even let people have "French" fries? If it is held in somewhere like France, do you think the US athletes will be very welcome?

If it's held practically ANYWHERE outside the States then the US athletes won't be very welcome, and that is the sad truth.

Any other kind of protest wouldn't get any attention. The point of a protest is for people who have no voice (in this "democratic" country) to be heard. Standing on a street corner with a sign gets protestors nothing but ignored. These actions need to be taken by people to get their point across. Certainly these people could have chosen better methods of protest, but laying in the middle of a busy street is a damned good way to show how passionate they are about their cause.

EXACTLY!!! No one cares what they have to say!! Just because people that are for the war aren;t out stopping traffic doesn't mean they aren't passionte about it! Its the only way for them to get on TV becuase they know that no one cares!!!

"It's dangerous to be right when your government is wrong" -Francois Marie Arouet Voltaire

No one (especially the government) will listen to them because Bush wants war and doesn't care what people think. Not caring doesn't prove correctness. Not caring proves narrow-minded ignorance.

I've seen and read many stories about French businesses pleading that the majority of France isn't against the war and that they NEED US tourism. Its necessary for their economy. Also wine sales are way down and wineries in France are pleading as well. You think EVERYONE is against it because sane people (for the war) aren't out causing chaos. They don't need to act like fucking imbiciles.

I'm not out blocking peoples cars and infringing on their rights and I'm very passionate FOR the war. Many people are passionate FOR the war!!! Explain to me why they aren't out creating chaos??? I'll tell you.....they are civil human beings and don't have to fuck with everyone else. I have absolutly NO problem with protestors speaking their minds. What I have a problem with is them being fucking selfish POS's and blocking streets!!!! WHY IS IT RIGHT FOR THEM TO DO THAT WHEN THEY CAN DO IT OTHER WAYS????

They aren't out "creating chaos" because Bush is on their side, so they don't need to fight to have their opinions heard.

Oh there's a whole lot more to it than that. They want Iraq to remain the way it is because the chaos that is going on over there is the most profitable for them.

http://www.efreedomnews.com/News%20Arch ... hasWMD.htm

And just to set the record straight: The sanctions regime has improved the health of all Iraqi children not under Saddam Hussein's thumb. In the Kurdish North — where American and British, but not French, planes prevent mass slaughter — there is no mass starvation or child-health crisis. Saddam, and not sanctions, has killed hundreds of thousands of children in order to score propaganda points, which have in turn been manfully presented to the world community by Mr. Chirac in exchange for fat oil contracts. In effect, the French (and Russians) do not want a war-for-oil because the current peace-for-oil allows them to collect billions from the corpses of dead Iraqi children.

Look at Iraq's military equipment. Nearly all of it was made in either France, Germany, China, or Russia. Try convincing me that this is a coincidence.

And why is France so quick to be the ones to rebuild Iraq when the fighting is over? So they can reap the benefits and profits of rebuilding a country. They aren't willing to fight for the liberation of Iraq but think they should rebuild it? I don't think so.

what's the total now? Red Cross said one before the bus on the bridge. then you have accusations that 15 were killed in a market, and now another 58 today. though we haven't even targeted those locations. in fact we didn't even have fired missiles anywhere in Iraq at those times. but we ackoledge friendly fire and even the bus incident. there ain't enough lives for those people raising hell in the streets. what they can do is go to a park, or do that kind of stuff where they can rally and not affect the average moe who doesn't give a shit one way or another about this war.

oooo, the american's are trying to fight a "politically correct" war. Which is impossible we're doing the best we can not to kill civilians. But its pretty hard not to kill cicvilian's when no one's leaving bagdad and we're trying to bomb it. And if i could half express myself to you Alex, i'd probably be banned from this site. And THATS in all sincerety.

Have a nice day.

Liam, say what you want/need to. You won't get banned. Look at this board, we're surrounded by assholes where ever you look, so just speak out and let that be the end of it.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.
