Yeah a thread like this was made by someone on BBTS. Then Jim made a thread like it on here. The CM copied a thread on BBTS to complain about it, making this whole damn thing more redundant, by making a copy of a thread to complain about boards being to similar.

I'd just like to mention that there are now a total of 9(!) members browsing this board right now. Sorry I don't have anything useful to contribute.

Actually Rusty you carbon copy threads you start on both forums.

I'm always happy to help Josh out with whatever he wants to do. I just pay the bills and make decisions when needed.

I also think Jim understands Josh's reason for creating BBTS, and feels the forum has another motive behind it. I don't agree with it having another motivation behind it. Josh wanted a place so he could get additional input on the site, as well as offer something for free that .net makes you pay for. I don't want to see anyone draw lines and pick sides. I like all of you folks and just want everyone to post a lot, make new friends, go on adventures together, challenge what you think and believe, and have a good time. We won't always get along, but everyone is pretty mature for the most part, and I think we are all capable of talking our differences out like adults most of the time.

I'm not an adult, I throw sand in people's faces and kick them when they're down.

Sand wouldn't appreciate you throwing him in anyones face. Unless it was a sharks face. In that case he would love you forever...or at least until he was fully digested.

If the modding here is non-existant and she won't post, I would assume that BBTS where she does post would have more modding. Now that I know she is an admin, I understand things a lot more. She can do there what she couldn't do here, and that is control who can and cannot participate.

She is (was?) an admin here too. Just thought you should know.

Because I go there so infrequently, I've never read Nikki/others try to "boycott" or diss the CM on a serious level (and I don't particularly feel like wading in there...) but if they were, then I think Jim has a right to complain. He understands the creation purpose of BBTS (the whole discography things etc). If one person left the group (Nikki) and a bunch of people go there to post just because they still want to talk to her, which is understandable, BBTS shouldn't be allowed to diss the CM, which was the "original". That's like... bullying. I think what Jim is saying is that it isn't fair that the BBTS forum, which really became full-fledged when everyone found that Nikki still posts there, detracts from what the CM originally was.

In addition to that, the BBTS board is pretty pointless, etc because it's exaaaaaactly the same stuff as the CM.

I don't know why exactly Nikki left anymore but I think the demise of the CM comes down to her leaving it.

... and the CM being so negative is totally false. Other web forums can get pretty hostile and tense, and the CM is still nice and polite, despite threads like this one.

I've never noticed BBTS dissing the cm....

Probably got that impression from the whole "I'm never going back to that stinky cm-place again!" deal.

*SIGH*

*goes over to BBTS*

ok... from what I see, there are cynical little remarks from Nikki about the CM. But I didn't know she was so hurt by comments that people made to her... which makes me think 1) how bad were these insults? 2) its a freaking internet web forum, get used to hostile comments.

I don't really see any negative comments about the CM initiated by any other member, really. But Nikki seems to be pretty stubborn with disapproving the CM.

What I'm thinking is , this isnt a kindergarten playground!!! How can you expect everyone to be nice? :uhh:

Perhaps its just the inner bitch in me, but I dont really get what people have against a good arguement every now and again. Not some name-calling one, but when there is a discussion on a topic people are going to have different opinions. Thats called life. I'm not sure why people think thats a bad thing.

I didn't read much from this thread, so I don't know if it's been said, but I know Josh started the other site for the reasons he said, I think Nikki's cry-baby leaving incident is a complete coincidence and that it just happened at the same time.

If the BBTS had been up for a few months prior to that happening, no one would be saying any of this.

J-Neli wrote:Essentially, because of her high post count here and at BBTS, she is responsible for helping keep the community going. I could understand if she decided not to post on any sites anymore, but the fact she's still involved in the OLP community but is boycotting this site isn't really doing anything for the OLP community at all.

When I mentioned "negative" earlier, it has nothing to do with fights or arguments or political discussions. Stop assuming you have a clue what I'm talking about (and by "you" I mean the 8 people who replied to that comment of mine)

As soon as Nikki left, all the positive conversations and the 100 threads of conversation per day stopped. 93% of what continued was "why my life sucks". I'm not coming here to read and reply to bitching and moaning about why people have crappy lives. We all have bad days... but we all have good days and people stopped posting about those, or anything positive at all. 6 months ago I'd have a shitty day and come here to chat with friends, laugh, have fun, etc. When Nikki left and Soozy stopped posting, this place lost what it was for me.

In my opinion, that's not "taking an internet message board to heart" as some of you have accused. :freak:
