Each time you park in TO will be approx $20, sometimes more, sometimes less (depending on where, when and if there's a nearby event going on). You can't stay at Molson Amphitheatre parking AND be able to walk around downtown from that spot, so you're looking at parking at least twice for approx $40.
And keep in mind that many downtown hotels charge extra for parking as well.

depends on where downtown you are going. It will be at approx 3 kilometres to get to union station which is at Bay and Front... so you could get there in about 30 minutes.
But this is at 11pm or midnight ish and the straight path takes you through some questionable areas... myself, I would never walk it.

And for all those driving, keep in mind that there are thousands of cars all trying to get out of the parking lot at the same time (people who were at the concert + Ontario place + people who just came for fireworks or other Canada day events). It's hit and miss depending on the day and event... sometimes we've been out in 15 minutes, sometimes it has taken almost an hour!
And parking is limited... sometimes we've been unable to find a spot and had to park farther away.

Well driving is the only way I'm going to be able to get there since I can't afford plane tickets so what are you suggesting I do then?

we'll be driving too, staying at the Metro and making sure we have a full car over to Edgefest ... the fewer cars we have down there the better.
People will spend all day at Ontario Place that day... so parking could be full starting right in the morning. There are nearby places to park though... we'll just have to go with the flow.

Off to book a room!
I'm booked!
And we're planning on giving you and Nikki a lift. Do you know yet if your friends are coming or if you're on your own?

Thanks so much, Kathy.
Rich may actually come!!! (If my co-worker and her b.f. go to Edgefest, they both have cars, so we don't have to worry about them.) In fact, if Rich comes, we will have a car too. So we can help transport people back and forth. I hope you'll let us follow you though, so we don't get lost!
I think I convinced Rich last night that he'd miss out on so much fun if he didn't come. He's not hot on general admission, so I told him he could stand in the back the whole time if he wanted to. LOL.
I added that he is going to miss one hell of a party if he stays home. (I think he's in.)
I booked a room at the Metropolitan too! I can't wait!!!

To all those going I highly reccomend you just use the GO train, it's fast, cheap and it will drop you off right in front of the Molson Amp.
The Days Hotel is around the corner from my place. It is right on top of the College Subway station which you can then take down to Union and take the Go train (which is every hour on the :49's) to the Amp. you can buy a day pass for the subway ($8.50) that can be used by two people per pass, and then the Go Train is only a few bucks each way.
There are two parking lots one block north of Carlton St on Wellesley St. You'd probably be looking at around 15$/day. I could walk down the road and find out but that's no fun. Otherwise I'm pretty sure there is parking at the hotel.

I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

Hey all I am glad we have lots of discussion going on. In terms of the commute downtown that can be a bit of a pain and taking the subway is a much better option.
In terms of driving to the Ontario Place I may just opt for public transpo. For those who are comming in on Friday Kruno and I have a few things we are working on and also for Saturday morning time permitting (it involves prizes..eheheh) When people know what there plans are let me know.
Oh Tori I did have a better price on the Days in my original post. It was the last hotel listed of the three. It is cheapest to go through hotels.ca.
yay for lots of cm fun
