I hope music never loses the importance in my life that it has. I don't see that happening, though, considering I've been pretty obsessive about it my entire life and I'm 23.

Ya, I dont think music will lose its importance to me either, its been there too long.

Although people have changed, I really think the music is also a factor. Even for all of you who were obsessed and super excited about OLP 2 years ago, I think if you replaced whatever album caused that excitement with HIPT, i dont think itd be the same.

But Who Knows?

I'm just excited about OLP as I was 3 years ago when I first became super crazy obsessive fangirl.

I've got pretty eclectic taste in music, though, so maybe that has something to do with it. *shrugs*

it's weird for me because i became crazy obsessive about olp waaaaay late (after live was released, ha)... and the only olp album ive ever 'waited' for was this one. when i first discovered the first albums, they were like a part of my life, almost, not knowing much other music. now... its been like 2.5 years since that and my music taste grew a lot and although i love the old olp albums to death, i dont think i would stay obsessive as much unless they made great albums that rival their first 4. and it's sad that that's the case because i really enjoy obsessing and loving all the songs for one band, i think it's really special. i wish i were still in obsessive love with them but im not, (im not saying olp has gone worse over the years or ANYTHING, its just that i love them less now) and thats sad.

i'll tell you what changed.

MIKE TURNER.

I don't know, I guess nobody else makes this connection, but for me when they kicked him out, then slammed him in the press, then released gravity, then slammed him some more, they did a lot of damage to their "mystique" in my eyes.

up until MT left they never seemed like rockstars to me. They were much more sincere with him in the band and it's that sincerity that they lack now.

They slammed him in the press? What did they say. Why the hell would they kick the man who started it all with Raine? Was it Mike's not wanting to go to Bob or something? What happened?

Raine said some unflattering things about him, which in my eyes, is/was uncalled for. I honestly couldn't believe that he said those things.

He did! It shocked me.

He said " Mike wasnt made for the studio, and he'll do good things, just not with a six stringed instrument"

I dont think mike's absence can be 100% blamed on their musical change though.

Holy Crap...he said THAT? How can he explain all the good things he did with those 4 CDs he was on with them? And he's got amazing guitar skill. What the hell would they have fought about for him to go so low?

i never saw that either but i guess if people saw it, raine has said it...

but seriously, we dont know what happened between any of them (ie. mike and raine) in the studio or during rehersals.... maybe it WAS called for. who knows.

He said it, he was angry. He just said mike wasnt made to record, or to play guitar.

He said the studio was a very tough place for him, and that he was holding the band back.

Which is why he had to leave.

It's truly sad how Mike and the rest of OLP weren't able to settle their differences. And it certainly doesn't look like Mike's departure was in any way amicable. :(
And if I don't make it known that

And I hope to God I figure out
