not to condone looting, but i mean c'mon
some of the things some of these looters are running off with are necessities. a lot of it just random junk they'll never need.
either way, if i was a shopp keeper (who uses that phrase these days?) i'd insure my store if it was on the coast.

She said "for people who
could have gotten out." Meaning those who were quite capable of leaving, but didn't.

Apparently those people are incapable of walking either.

People are dying in the streets. They have no food, no water, no sanitation and no one can get them.
This is so messed up. New Orleans is a CITY. In a civilized area, in the US.
*head explodes*

I have heard reports of people shooting at planes in the air that are trying to save lives. Why are they doing this? Don't they want to bew saved. They are trying to come in but how can they when people are shooting at them. Whoever is shooting at the the rescusers and planes those who are shooting at them those people that are doing that should stay there and die.
The New Orleans Saints will play in San Antonio for the rest of the year.

This is absolutly amazing. Apparently the city won't be functional for another 2 or 3 months.
To just think about it, an entire city just basically ceasing to be in one day. Wow...

the city has always been an engineering disaster. add to that that it has got a high rate of crime and is probably the poorest state in the Union, and yeah, this is the end result.
U of H ended up playing in the stadium.

I'm sorry, Reno, but... who the FREAK cares about football?!
That was horribly innapropriate and inconsiderate in this thread.

OH MY GOD.
People piss me off.
I'm not sure who, but it was some official woman speaking on TV, talking about how ashamed she was of the government, not acting fast enough.
"We need to aprove the [however many] billion dollars. And that money needs to go right to the people. I don't want another Iraq where the money just goes off somewhere, these are real human beings."
WTF?!? Did she just say that Iraqis aren't human?

they pulled "New Orleans is Sinking" off the airwaves yesterday.
also on in the convention centre, apparently they have a whole store of food and water locked up behind a chain metal fence, visible to all but unavailable to anyone because it's convention centre property. which is really pointless considering the circumstances i would think

Now the relief has come and busses has come. What is pissing me off is that people don't understand that its hard to get down there and give everyone relief. Just imagine going there in the flood waters and how slow you must have to go to not get stuck. They are bringing help to people but people are shooting and the helacopters. People need to learn to me that they need patience I give my sympthy and I know its hard for them but they are trying to get down there and help them.
Also, now like almost if not all of the airlines are opening up and going to take refuagees. I'm hopeing that other states even if they are far away from New Orleans (they have some place to go) will open any vacant building that is available to open.
Here in Detroit we have an old indoor stadiam the Pontiac Silverdome, that we can bring people to. I know its a long ways away, but hey the airlines are flying those people now. All we have to do is clean the Silverdome up and we can accept people but who knows what it is like in there.
I give all my sympathy to the people, but yet again it like some people could of gotten out and some people couldn't get out, but the people who could have gotten out why didn't they? They were told what it was going to be like after the hurricane. I give all of my sympathy to them though. I do feel kind of guilty because I have this nice house to be in and thousands of people in New Orleans have nothing.
10,000 could of be dead in Louisana now they have just said. It's not cofirm yet though.
