That was a while ago...

Anyway it's a risky title. If the album sucks, jokes will be rampant. IE: "This album lives up to its name OMGWTF!11"

Then again, if it rocks, all people will say "Doesn't wipe the smile off MY face OMGWTF!11!!a1"

Therefore, I think the title blows. I hope they don't use it.

Wipe that smile off your face= icky album title.
Due to computer issues, I think I'm the only one here who doesn't have the hub, so would anyone be willing to add me on msn and send me the non-live version of Whatever and Wipe that smile off your face?

There's a non-live version of WTSOYF? Since when?

I think she means the non-live version of Whatever... and any version (meaning the live one) of WTSOYF

I don't like the idea of a self titled album very much.

a) I would hate talking about it. ("Yeah, my favorite/least favorite/neither my least or most favorite CD would have to be Our Lady Peace." "...")

b) It doesn't seem like it would be too hard to come up with. And dammit, Our Lady Peace doesn't do enough work in the studios, they need to focus all their efforts on titling too. (ha ha, I kid)

c) I've always felt self-titled albums work better as debut albums. Even if they feel like a whole new band... well, they aren't.
I just wanna get out,
Stuck inside of this.
Waiting for something else,

The Beatles came out with "the Beatles" after over half a dozen records. Of course it's now referred to as "the white album" but still, it's an example of a self titled album many years into a bands existance.

I really don't like when bands do selftitled albums.

It would be like... like if Geaorge Lucas named one of the SW movies Star Wars instead of Return of the jedi, empire strikes back etc. It also just seems like a lack of effort to me. I don't know. Wipe... isn't that great either.

I think if they like that song that much they should take a lyric from it (like Happiness) Not the title. so maybe something like:

Silver Cross
This Is War
Strength that You Won't Believe
Drop The Bomb (on the hate you've been selling)
Hate You've Been Selling
ETC
THERE'S TOO MANY OF US THAT DON'T WANT TO FIGHT IT

"This is War" - I dig it.
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

If the band makes that the title, I will so get credit in the booklet, or I'm suing Sony.

dude.....a self titled album, and the cd cover should be avacado green.

that way, 15 years from now, it will be forever known as, the avacado green album. :P

i think the whole non-debut self-titled album is starting to be a new trend . . . finger 11, blink 182, and deftones, all recently released self-titled albums for example. so olp come up with an actual title rather than just following the trend.

The title of the album means very little to me.

That being said I think "Wipe..." is kind of a strange title.............not that bad.............its a commonly used phrase that has meaning.

I prefer the "This is war" suggestion...................that is a good title.

I can't wait until they give us a release date, first single, track listing, and yes, album title.

I'm I the only one that thinks "this is war" is a bad title? It's all wwe-esque and not what I think of when I think OLP. It sounds like "we're trying to be cool by being ruffntuff". But hey! better than WTSOYF :P

The only one that appeals to me is "strength that you won't believe"

what about "the winding road" ala Not Afraid?

I'd have to hear a tracklisting to come up with a suitible title.

I don't think 'This Is War' is a good title. It's too 'War All the Time'esque.

From the sounds of it, the whole album is going to be a little cliché. I mean, really, a song about touring? (Not Afraid)

Been done a few too many times, methinks...
