I think you might not be able to get it cause of your age. Aren't you under 18 if memory serves me correctly.

I think every teenager should see that film. It is so on the money.

Things are getting much worse. Espically when Junior High kids get letters sent home to their parents about how they can't have oral sex under the stairwell.

It all comes down to the media though. We have become to saturated with sex, drugs and violence that its having an effect on kids. And who is to blame but us? Espically since we are the ones buying into it. Its just not right.

i have to say, its not media's or our fault. Parents should be monitoring what there kids are watching, or at least talking to them about it

I dunno, I blame the media for a lot of it.

Think about the popular TV shows that were on when we were kids. Full House, Family Matters, etc. The shows were cheesy and a half, but had strong morals and barely talked about sex... and when they did, it was to teach a lesson.

Now look at TV today. I can't think of a single popular show on TV that doesn't have strong sexual and/or violent content. It's out of hand.

Even kids shows now are entirely different. When we were kids, most children's shows had lessons and weren't quite as mind-numbing and stupid as they are now. I watch Nickelodeon now (my cousin has a 6-year-old) and wanna kill myself. Sure, the shows that I used to love when I was little aren't entertaining to me anymore either, but at least they don't make me wanna bawl my eyes out at their stupidity and pointlessness.

Something needs to change. The next generation truly scares me.

i never swore until I was in the 5th grade, and then i bearly ever did, and i still almost never do.

there was this documentary on hbo about kids in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades about what goes on behind the sceens (what parents don't see/know,) and it was the most desterbing thing i ever saw. It talked about like 11 year olds girls giving boys the same age blow jobs, getting drunk, smoking, doing drugs, and quitting school.

mind you my sister is 11 and i know she doesn't do these things, and if my parents find out she did any of this they would probly do didly shit. But if i were to do this i would get grounded while she would get off scott free.

Haha Cass. I am pass GOODY GOODY.

'I will say this some kids are doing stuff at an early age that I don't even do now, or not till I was an adult.

I don't know who is really to blame. I also find it sort of odd cause most of you on here are in your late teens/early to mid 20's. At least a generation younger then me. I grew up in the 80's. I was talking to one of my friends last night. She said what am I worried about I don't have kids. True, but my job puts me in contact with Teens everyday cause I work near 2 schools. One JR high and One HS.

Plus I still go to concerts. I remember reading in one of the threads about some of you complaining about kids at shows. Which is somewaht amusing cause you are all younger then me, and some of you can be considered kids to me.

It all goes back to morals and ethics. My parents taught me values so if/when I have kids I will teach them it. Only thing is there are too many kids who aren't taught any kind of respect.

BTW Nikki, the shows when I was a kid were Sid and Marty krauft.(ask your parents)

Popular shows when I was really young was things like All In The Family, The Jeffersons. Maude, Mash and things like that.(as a kid) as a teen/early 20's it was things like Cheers, Cosby Show, LA LAW, St Elsewhere etc.

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

Eh, I have a semi-bad mouth. I watch it, though, when around people who are more respected than me (which, believe me, is often).

Man, I'd never tell a girl I'd do her though. What a little jerk.
I just wanna get out,
Stuck inside of this.

Yeah, see, none of those are really bad. Within the past, I dunno, not even 10 years, TV has gotten far far worse. The most raunchy shows from even the early nineties weren't anywhere near the level shows are now with sexual content. It's just gotten to the point where kids can't watch TV without seeing half naked people (or, heck, completely naked people in some cases) doing things that kids just shouldn't see. It's no wonder they're growing up way too fast these days, they're just emulating what they see in the media.

That's true, if you watch any tv show now there will be sexual talk or at least hinting at it.

Gail, we will still be kids to you when you are 50 and we are 50 :P Hehe.

I think part of the reason I get so pissed off at the way things are is just because of my religion and where I live. We are alot stricter and have different ideas. But I like to believe that my ideas on morality or whatever would be somewhat similar even if I didn't live here.

OMG-50, I still have aways for that. My brother will be 50 in a few months.

I really don't watch much TV(except some soaps and Sopranos). I will say this though. I have seen that SNL has been pushing the enevolpe for years now. Maybe cause it is on after 11:30PM when kids aren't suppose to be watching TV.

There are some shows I see that I go- I can't believe this will get on air, while other things won't.

I still say it is up to the Parents to guide there Kids. I know you can't watch your kid 24/7-but at least spend some time with them. I am almost horrified how some of you have written little kids as young as 5 are swearing.

That could also be cause they hear their parents or other siblings. I try not to swear (if I do swear) in front of kids. I can't tell you how many times I see parents swearing at their kids or talking violence.
