The link to polygamy is just silly

Yes, 2 same sex people getting married is just gonna pave the way for chaos and then before you know it people will be getting married to 5 people at once.

Yeah :wtf:

Changing the rules of marrige could open the floodgates.
And although I think its incredibly stupid to think that same-sex marriges will lead to polygamy it is a concern. There are more people then you would think in north america that support polygamy. Where are their rights?

I really think that we need to take a step back and look at the situation a little more closely before making a decision about same sex marriges. There are so many stupid arguements like this one need to be addressed before any decision should be made.

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

The article...it was in fact, very badly written, and didn't really seem like an article as much as an editorial. She does have a point, but presented it very badly. What she should be trying to say is that we have a problem when a politician can't even stand up for what he beleives in because he is afraid of losing his position. People should put their own morals before party loyalty, but that simply is not allowed.

Instead, she contradicts herself all over the place, trying to make him look bad in so many different ways that it just doesn't work. Meh, she's entitled to her opionon, she could just work a bit on the presentation of that, like NOT putting words into his mouth... *shrug*

The thing is, you have to draw the line somewhere whether you want to or not. Otherwise it WILL lead to incest and polygamy.

I do not believe that anything will lead to incest. In every culture in the world for as far back as we know about there has been a taboo against incest. This suggests that there is an intuitive, built-in reason for anti-incest views in humans - namely, to avoid genetic problems and widen the gene pool. Homosexuality, on the other hand, has not had this same reputation. Being gay DOES stop people from having children, but if they weren't allowed to practice homosexuality they probably would become celibate and not have children anyway. It doesn't adversely affect the species. Actually, I believe that it happens as a sort of population control...
