Jonny,
The station I am talking about here is not mainstream. They are a new rock station that plays old, new and classic rock. They play stuff that you will not hear on other stations which is why I do not understand why they have not played OLP..
They might play them when they come for the show. They did after all announce the show..

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

Now I must enter.
OLP was my favorite band for years. But the minute that sweet sweet MUSE hit my ears I was born again. Every album is consistently out doing the one before it.
The HAARP dvd was one of the most epic thing I have ever seen. If I was actually there I might have had to wear a diaper because I would be jizzing constantly.
The last concert that had the effect was in March of 2000 at an OLP concert in downtown Detroit.
The concert in 2005 for OLP had like 13 songs played and was a huge let down.
I mean MUSE plays a ridiculous amount of material, and they play it to perfection.
Raine just looks like he wants to fall asleep on stage now honestly. Back in the day he was beating his chest and looking like he need a straight jacket because he was nuts up there. Now he needs a few Red bulls so he doesn't let out a big yawn on stage.

muse are one of my favourite bands. but always thought they lack an emotional connection in their songs. seems more of a mechanical process when it comes to those guys, always technically brilliant.. just.. something missing.. well thats my take on them anyways.
anyhow.. being from the uk, i've always felt that olp had so many songs that could've made them huge over here. stuff like starseed, 4am, supermans dead, in repair, sot etc would've got so much air time if sony bothered to push them. ah well smaller venues are always the best.. so best not complain

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed with a lot of OLP live performances from around 2005/06 as well, but looking back now I see that it was a rough time for the band. They nearly broke up because of the shit that went down with HIPT. Hopefully now with all the positive energy and talk about Burn Burn, Raine will let loose again.
I'm just thinking about a particular "Denied" performance from 1995, Raine was basically having seizures it was insanely awesome.... some kick ass soloing from Emtee as well.

I thought they had a lot of really great performances during that time period. I liked what Joel added to the band, they way they changed up Clumsy, and Superman's Dead. I liked how they closed with Superman's Dead instead of Starseed. Aside from the lack of setlist variation, there were a pretty good batch of tours, especially with with OLPedestrian opening.

Raine is fantastic in The Birdman of Live DVD and Denied at Molson Anphiteathre 1995...however i loved Clumsy live at Massey Hall 2005(where recorded the footage for A Decade DVD, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhv_iHv0hFg) but i don't like the end where Raine leave the stage without regards...

It was a really crappy week here until I heard OLP on RXP. I'm not sure if you've been listening to the station, but they've played the song a few times. Awesome to actually hear them on the radio and a respectable station here.
Did I miss something? Unless they started playing them today. I listen to the station at work from 7AM -3PM( Pinfield mornings and the Steve Craig show)
yeah.. I wrote Leslie a few times asking her to play it.
BTW Steve played Dead kennedys on Punk Trunk yesterday.. I requested them in an email.. SWEET..
