im hoping this next one is a little heavier...cause they said they had so many songs and could put out any kind of record with healthy...and it was a little softer...im hoping the next one is heavier like vampires
Is there something good, something more?
Is there anything worth dying for?

You must have really liked vampires.

I think they have a lot of potential to do a harder sound. I think they would have more sucuess if they did that, and I think it would create better songs. But the band has moved away from that more and more and its hard to see them going back to that. Which is not good.

haha...ya...i love vampires

they always have a heavy song or 2 on album now...whereas the older stuff had 1 or 2 mellower ones....i guess even a more even mix would make me happy...

dont get me wrong...i love all of it...im just more into the heavier stuff

Not that they won't, they can't. A genius' passing is a sad sad thing.

I'm not more into the heavier stuff, I'm just more into the unique and creative stuff... which is why I like Healthy In Paranoid Times over a CD like Clumsy. Naveed, Happiness..., and HIPT are probably my favorites in that order.

Although if Trapeze was on Clumsy it may have been up there, as well.

A lot of HIPT is annoying (Where Are You, Don't Stop and Picture most notably). I like Don't Stop, but that chorus is so bland. The verses are beautiful, though. But a lot of HIPT (Boy and Wipe That Smile Of Your Face most notably) is creative and just completely refreshing.

I actually think Bob Rock did a great job producing the CD, outside of Where Are You. I think his third album with OLP could be produced greatly, since both sides understand each other more now and know each other's styles. Gravity was poppy. Healthy In Paranoid times was more creative and unique, and creatively took them to the edge. This third album should be able to be done with ease, and it should be completely the style OLP wants, with Rock's genious, or lack there of.

I hope so, Rock is like a leech on musical creativity. Bring back Lanni.

Did someone just say HIPT was more unique and creative than Clumsy?

I'm pretty sure they're done with bob rock. raine could definately produce the bands next album if he/they wanted him to do so..and im sure he'd put more creativity into it. i think the only reason they worked with rock was record label pressure..

What's unique about Clumsy? It's just generic alternative/grunge rock with a guy who sings funny.

It allows more personal interpetation than HIPT. It also challenges you to stop and think about what is being said in the lyrics. HIPT is lyrically more straight forward. Jeremy's drumming had also began to develop more towards a very neat jazzy/rock style rather than just a straight rock beat.

Yeah Clumsy is way more unique sounding. You can't compare the style of music on that album to anything I've heard.

Not to mention that HIPT clearly sounds like all kinds of other bands throughout.

I'd be inclined to agree. They've had Steve long enough to find their stride and get to know one another and the same may apply to Bob if they use him again...which I'm sure most of us would prefer they don't.

As for the release date...
