Don't stone me, but I think not afraid is ok, not the best. I haven't heard any other new stuff, but from you guys No warning sounds amazing. Hope it makes it to the album.

Here is my opinion for anyone who cares:

No Warning is okay...but the lyrics still needed work....same goes for talk is cheap
Wipe that smile off your face is amazing
walking in circles is pretty good
Dont ask why(christmas greeting) sounds amazing
Not Afraid is by far the best song of them all and IMO should be the first single and title track of the new cd
Is there something good, something more?
Is there anything worth dying for?

I'd really like to hear a studio version of No Warning with more developed lyrics. I think it could be the best of the new songs

Umm.. considering we don't have a tracklisting, whose to say any of these songs will make the album?

that is true.

I dig walking in circles, not afraid, and wipe...
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

My Opinions:

No Warning - very promising. I think once the lyrics are worked out, it might be one of the better new songs.
Talk Is Cheap - If done correctly, this will probably be up there is some of my favorite OLP songs of all time. The chorus has to stay the same, but the verses need some work with the lyrics. Actually, when i first heard it, I thought it was something unreleased from the Clumsy era. if this song does not make the cd, my dissapointment level will be undescribable.
Wipe... - I think once again the lyrics could use some work. Also, i think it is just missing something. The sound is just kind of plain, so hopefully they've worked that out in the studio.
Don't Ask Why - this is most likely going to be the best song on the new cd. Don't ask me why (haha punny), i just have a feeling.
Walking in Circles - i've never really been a fan of this song. The lyrics need the most work of the bunch IMO.
Not Afraid - You know, on the holiday thing, i was kind of upset they chose those lyrics to use, but it might just have been because i was used to the others more. So this one could go either way.

yeah, Raine said they would both be on it...........but that was in the summer. I think its still possible for them to be scratched but I doubt it.

Songs that will probably make the album:

NOT AFRAID
DON'T ASK WHY
WALKING IN CIRCLES
WIPE THAT SMILE OFF YOUR FACE

MAybe's:

NO WARNING
TALK IS CHEAP (both of these sounded promising)

I like Wipe.... It has a smooth relaxed beat that rises up nicely for the chorus and has a kickass solo before its rousing ending. It almost has a jazz feel to me.........I can't quite explain it. For slower song it has a nice jive.....(this is the simple yet effective I was waiting for)

I think a studio version of Walking In Circles will definetly help that song.......it could be quite catchy and has potential..........but I am not use to analyzing live songs and how that might translate to the album. When I first heard Life and Everyone's a Junkie on a live bootleg I thought they sounded crappy, but the album brings out them out nicely.

I am also rooting for Talk is Cheap..........that song rocks my socks. And I agree its lyrics needed some changing, but had some strong points in its early stage.

Not Afraid looks like a definite dynamite single.......its energetic and a good representation of OLP's ability to write something that is uplifting and just rocking. It shows their strengths as a band. That Juno's version is still my favourite live song.

Wow, it's good to see i'm not the only one here looking for a studio version of Talk Is Cheap. I really think that the chorus showcases almost everything I like about OLP. The lyrics are inspiring, yet not over complex, the power in Raine's voice sounds incredible, and the guitar and drums are both excellently played in the background.

And what if every song they've played live so far turns out to be pieces of shit compared to what's going to be on the album? You can't say what you want on the album when you only have 6 songs to choose from.

Why cant we? Who knows, all of the songs are crap compared to what may be on the album but we dont know that. We can only base our oppinions on what we've heard. It's obvious that a lot of people like some of the songs they've hard so whats wrong with wishing they will be on the album?

Am I the only one on here who doesn't like Not Afraid? The verse guitar riff is annoying, the chorus is sing-songy, catchy, and very Gravity-ish. For a bunch of fans (mostly) claiming to want to get away from Gravity, it's strange that you all seem to prefer this song over the rest.

Then again, the other new stuff isn't all that great either. Coming from most bands, it'd be fun rock stuff. Coming from OLP, it's just fun rock stuff. You all know what I'm talking about, so let's not get into this again.

The moral of the story: Robbo's not too fond of the new stuff.

Having said that, I do think that some of the songs (with some work) could be good and fun...
