Just wondering, about how many days is this campaign gonna last? 'cause I leave for Ottawa on Sunday and don't get back for about a week.

Ok, since most of us seem to have scheduling issues, we can do this tomorrow (saturday) or whenever everyone is available. It's up to you guys to tell me.

Since I'm really tired from a week of training for work, I've decided not to run tonight.

We'll go again the next day that everyone is free.

We're not very good geeks if our real lives get in the way of our fantasy lives.

I would stay home.. but... there's this really kickass Chinese restaurant in Ottawa...

Plus my brother's roommate is apparantly a LotR geek. Yay.

Anyway, you might as well just take me outta the campaign since i'm not gonna be around all week.

How does one play this game?

The game (campaign/story/etc.) is lead by the Dungeon Master (me). I'm like the story teller. I provide descriptions of the places you go, conversation and dialogue from non-player characters (NPCs), control the battles, etc. I'm like god, to put it in a sense.

You are a member of a party. You're adventuring with a group of characters (doug, josh, sarah, tyler). With them, you will go about the world I've made for you. You'll talk to people, gain information from them, encounted enemies and dangerous situations.
The world of D&D is wide open. you are free to do anything you want, and react to any situation as you see fit, but remember to work with your party. Teamwork is a big part as well.

Since it's a Role Playing Game, I emphasize the word ROLE PLAYING.
If you enter a situation such as this:

"The patron at the tavern is watching you closely, waiting for you to make the wrong move."
Your character could react to this however you like. He might want to leave the tavern to avoid any trouble, stick around and enjoy his ale, talk to him to see what his problem is, or outright kill him if you're he's so inclined.

Just follow the example that Doug, Josh and Sarah set at our next session.
