from an unbiased voice (since I'm not a fan of Blink or Box Car), I think the two band sound very different. Blink 182 is punk/pop/rock while Box Car Racer is more rock/alternative. There are similarities in the vocal stylings but that's probably just because Tom has a very distinctive voice, otherwise, I don't really hear any significant similarities.
yeah i'm not a huge fan of either but Box Car is definatly more appealing it was started because they knew it wouldn't go over well with the rest of the bullshit about Poopie, and girlfriends that's on most Blink albums.......so much talent wasted

Yeah, Alan I totally fear that they won't be able to make any more awesome songs. They've made so many already it will be hard to top.
Another thing is that Tom only uses power chords for strumming, I think he should expand his horizon on that one. Maybe a barre chord or 2.
Anyways, they do sound alike obviously because Tom is the singer, and it is the same type of music. But BCR has more mellow, sad, meaningful songs. It shows that Tom has grown up in his lyric writing.
Oh yeah, the one difference between Blink and BCR is that BCR has 2 guitarists.

Exactly. Bandwagon-hopping music for the masses. I prefer a little originality in my music.
How can you not think that Boxcar and Blink sound similar. Stay Together For The Kids is pretty much identical to I Feel So (or whatever it's called). They even have the same triplet drum fill half-way through.

I LOVE Blink!!!!! I enjoy their osngs about "poopie and girlfriends"(as somebody put it!) but I must say, they SUCK live! I went to Pop Disaster with Blink and Greenday and I've always liked Greenday too, but I was mostly just going for Blink(greenday was an added benefit). Greenday is by far the best show I have ever seen(and that includes OLP, but I saw OLP at the mtv pre-party thing and it wasn't an "olp audience" or anything so I don't want to say for SURE if Greenday is better live than OLP, but from that one preformance, I think so...) ANyway, so Greenday gets off and I'm thinking "Oh my god, this is TOO awesome!" because I would have been completely happy just going home after such and amazing performance, but then to still have Blink on their way out......
Well, to say I was disappointed is an under-statement! You couldn't even hear them. On top of that, a lot of Blink songs osund the same and so I'd have to like, strain my brain to figure out which song they were singing! It was horrible. ENRIQUE IGLESIAS was better than Blink!!! Of the most horrible performances I've ever seen, Blink is right up there.....
Maybe they were having a bad night or maybe it was just the fact that they were on after Greenday and after THAT, anybody would seem bad...I don't know....all I know is that I was wwaiting---and wiating-----and waiting---for them to get better, but it just didn't happen!

does anyone have an updated info on the "GOD" of all DVD's (OLP's) cuz i'm really getting impatient, i really want it to be out before christmas, so i can be rocking on the DVD... anyway, will there be a Live CD to go with the liive DVD?

OLPGOOSE where were you standing at pre-vma show. There were 6 of us Long Islander/New yorkers standing in front row left of the stage. It was so much fun. You were probarly the other girl we saw with the OLP shirt on. Are you going to Atlantic City show??? A bunch of us are going and a few more would be super-dooper

I was at the right(infront of my duncan!) You probably saw me...i stand out quite a bit! I was wearing turquoise...it was like, a long hsirt(a tunic, but i said long shirt in case you're a boy because i cant remember, and i didn't wnat u to be like "a what?!!?") anyway, so it was turquoise and i had a net scarf on my head...which came off because it was WAY too hot to try and be religious! not that net covers much anyway! but i was lthere like, 3 hours early and you probably saw me crossing the street to where the line is. i wa sin teh second row on duncan's 
side!!! im not going to AC becaus ei have to go to a friends wedding!!!!!!!!
