How weird would it have been...

Post by Axtech »

...if you had won the guitarist search?

I mean, think about it! You'd be around OLP all the time! Your preception of them, both as a band and as people, would change completely.

I can definately see how Steve would be a bit shy in the spotlight.
If you won, wouldn't you find it weird if there was an interview with OLP, and people are asking you questions, when there's three big stars standing right beside you?

And to stand by and watch their antics would be so weird. You could see Steve's face light up when Raine said "God damned mother fucker" on the On Set.

Luckily, Steve seems to be getting along very well with his shove into stardom.

How do you think you'd do, if you were in his shoes?

Well you gotta remember that Steve wasn't just some lovesick teenager, he was an adult in the process of building a successful career. Be that as it may, my reaction would still be " 8O "

I'd be going "WTF?", then backfilp with glee!
Then a few moments later I'd be back to WTF, and I'd have to sleep on it.

I can imagine that Steve was pretty excited when they told him.

Did Steve win through the actual contest? I thought they just found him other ways..

Yeah. He was like a friend of a friend or something, who happens to be very talented.

I'd probably piss my pants.... no. I'd soil myself. Then I'd have a heart attack.
Some of you probably think I left. But was I ever here to start?

Can you say spontaneous combustion?

In the livejournal OLP community, I said something along the lines of "wouldn't it be cool if the new guitarist was a girl?" and some guy called me sexist. To this day, I fail to see how that was sexist, even if he explained his reasoning to me.

Prick. People take themselves way too seriously.

Well, at first I'd be like "HOLY FUCKING SHIT!" but then I'd just go back to being me. Nothing too fancy. But that's just me.

I would probably be in disbelief, then I would probably cry in happiness. I started jumping up and down when I won OLP tickets in 2001, God knows what would happen if I became their guitarist. Can anyone say starstruck?
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

I totally could of won it, but meh...I am only 16.
It would be pretty sweet for a 16 year old to win that.

the terror held in wedding bells
the comfort in "there's no one else"
the truth be told, i'm never going to know
