Believe me, massive burning hurts a lot.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

Yeah, it looks bad too. I'd take my pants off and show you the burns, but I'd rather not.

CoreyRIT wrote:That's not the point. What's wrong with someone singing the way they enjoy. You shouldn't have to strain yourself just to sound different.

The point is that Creeds lyrics are deep and creatively arranged. The music arrangement is also solid and flows perfectly. They mix their instruments better than most bands I've heard. It is both powerful and insiteful.

The only bad things most people have to say is "he's a jesus wannabe" or "hes trying to be eddie vedder". Never anything about the music in particular. I could've sworn that was what it was all about but I guess videos did kill the radio star. Noone cares about the music anymore, its all about image.

I agree you shouldn't have to strain..Scotts voice must take a beating how hard he tries though. And him trying to emulate Eddies voice has plenty to do with the music, it shows his lack of creativity.

You say Creed emulates Pearl Jam but there is one thing wrong with that logic. I don't even like Pearl Jam.

The manner in which you sing is the least important factor and in no way could determine your level of creativity. It takes a whole lot more creativity to write lyrics and music than to sing in a deep voice. Eddie Vedder is no God for figuring that one out.

Why are vocals different than someone playing a guitar? Your voice is an instrument, and vocals are very important to me personally I like the rasp of Cobains voice, the Whine of Raines, and Eddies low voice. I know you can't have total originality in how you sing but you can at least try to vary it. Did I say Emulate Pearl Jam? Because I sure can't find it in there, so I guess there is something wrong with that logic. I said he Emulates Eddies Voice and thats the truth. There music has a much stronger pop presence than Pearl Jams, and a lot less depth lyrically. Its like Olps old albums compared to Gravity..

eh... that's one opinion. We can agree to disagree.

.. but people really need to stop using the word "pop".

in the current issue of CHART MAGTAZINE(Canadian) they have this whole theory why CREED Is huge here etc. I tell you this. I like Creed. I have seen them live. I do not however think they are the greatest Rock Band out there, I also think that Scott is full of himself, but that doesn't mean I don't like them. Creed is the band that is cool to hate, but they are what they are. As for OLP touring with them. OLP played from September 1999-November 1999 supporting Creed in the USA.

that article in CHART was a masterpiece it is the most bluntly truthful article i have ever read, not because of the creed dissing but just most ppl general feelings for music, any olp fan could relate to that article whether they like Creed or not. Wow i thought i was the only one that read the article
"How can we justify spending so much on destruction and so little on life?" Matthew Good

"The white dove is gone, the one world has come down hard, so why not share the pain of our problems, when all around are wrong ways, when all around is hurt, i'll roll up in an odd shape and wait, untill the tide has turned.....with anger, i'm dead weight, i'm anchored"- IME, God Rocket (Into the Heart of Las Vegas) ^ Some say this song is about a terrorists thoughts before 911

"Pray for the sheep" Matt Good
"But it's alright, take the world and make it yours again" Matt Good

I felt it in the wind, and i saw it in the sky, i thought it was the end, i thought it was the 4th of July.
