Just like the Backstreet Boys...

yes actually.

It's like saying Garth Brooks sucks just because you don't like country.

"Last time I listened to the radio it was more like, 'Who the fuck is this guy and maybe I should call an attorney! It's kinda funny that you can copyright a note progression... but you can't copyright your voice and the way you sing." (interview - Rolling Stone Australia - 8/00)

That's the dumbest comment ever. As if everyone has to sing differently.

Its one thing to be influenced by someone, another to rip them off. Creed would be ripping off. And I think people shouldn't TRY to sing like another person which he obviously does. Woudln't music be boring if everyone sang like Eddie? Thats a refreshing thing about Raine his voice is unique.

I don't see why everyone hates Creed so much. Creed and OLP take so much shit, it's unbelieveable. And OLP fans should know this more than anyone. We don't like people who diss up OLP, and give them shit saying they are empty musicians, and that they're music sucks. So how can you guys turn around and do the same thing to another band? Just because you don't like them, doesn't mean they aren't good. Example: I hate Coldplay with all my heart and soul. But I acknowledge the fact that they are a very good and accomplished band.
Some of you probably think I left. But was I ever here to start?

I used to tolerate Creed...and then it got WAY overplayed. That's the same with Nickelback and Staind. They're all the same to me. :freak:

I really haven't ever heard OLP taking crap for being empty..in fact I never have. But I'm sure people do hate them, I've heard a lot of people who don't like Raines whiny voice and I really could care less if they don't. I respect Creed, not many bands could sing lyrics that sound like they are generated from a computer program and get so many people to buy their cds. Btw, just search on Kazaa Foo Fighters- Arms wide open you'll find it.

Well..... I still like them. They remain my number 2/3 favourite band. (next to OLP, and tied with Goo Goo Dolls)

I think it's a lot different than Billy Corgan's. They're both whiney-sounding, but Raine has his own touch. That's how I see it anyways.

What's more common though? A Billy Corgan-type voice, or an Eddie Vedder/Jim Morrison-type voice?

That's not the point. What's wrong with someone singing the way they enjoy. You shouldn't have to strain yourself just to sound different.

The point is that Creeds lyrics are deep and creatively arranged. The music arrangement is also solid and flows perfectly. They mix their instruments better than most bands I've heard. It is both powerful and insiteful.

The only bad things most people have to say is "he's a jesus wannabe" or "hes trying to be eddie vedder". Never anything about the music in particular. I could've sworn that was what it was all about but I guess videos did kill the radio star. Noone cares about the music anymore, its all about image.

"I feel forces all around me
Come on raise your head
Those who hide behind the shadows
Live with all that’s dead

Look at me…look at me
At least look at me when you shoot a bullet
through my head
Through my head
Through my head
Through my head"

How profound.

I'm not sure where you're going witht that. I'm assuming its an attack on Creed's lyrics but quoting one location is pretty silly way of defending it. Out of context lyrics will always look retarded. Without music will make them look even dumber.

example:

"Now do you know, does it make you mad? Oh it makes you mad, mad, mad, mad

Get it on
Get it on
Get it on
Get it on"

Ooooh burn!
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.
