BBTS lyrics?

i cant figure out what raine says in 2 parts of Bring back the sun:

1. the first line of the second verse:

?-------------------?
the grass wasnt greener i found

i think he says "live by the hour" (listen to rochester and it is clear)
my other interpretations are "little batter high" which makes no sense and "no matter how" which doesnt really fit either

2. i know, i know, i failed you
and i hope i hope we get through
sunny days again
i know i know i failed you
and i hope i hope we get through
?-----------------------?

i have no idea on this one

any ideas out there????

isn't that second one the sunny days part?
i haven't listened to gravity in a while, so i forget.

...According to the book.

However, it sounds sort of like:

i know i know i failed you
and i hope i hope we get through
show me your hand again

He may say one the first time, and the other the second time... I'm not sure.

The first one is very debateable because it doesn't say it in the booklet.

okay, so this is just what i've picked up on with the second thingie:

in the book it says:

but i've always thought, and it also says this on olp.cc, that he was saying:

i know, i know i've failed you
and i hope i hope we get through
show me your hand again

i know i know i've failed you
and i hope i hope we get through
soul signed hand

i've been paying attention to this at concerts as well. at the first concert i was at he was obviously saying the sunny days again part, but at the philly show, the first time he said sunny days again, and the second time he said soul signed hand, at least that's what i picked up. maybe they're just alternate lyrics. they certainly don't sound the same.

this is what Raine is singing. This is fact because I asked him a few months ago and he told me. it doesn't sound like it, but it is and if you really listen to it you will see it is that. ActuallY i wa surprised he answered. Getting him to answer anything about his lyrics is like pulling teeth. he knew off the bat what I wastalking about.I said what are you singing in BBTS, right before the second verse. he told me and said I know it doesn't sound like it, but that is what it is.

he is singing.

LIVING BY THE HOUR
the grass wasn't greener I found, etc, etc

not Little Batter high as people thought.

so i was right on the first one.......i listened to it on the rochester show and thats what i thought he said...."living by the hour"

the second part i know he says sunny days again on the first time but when he repeats everything again it is surely different......"show me your hand again" seems closest to me

so does raine just like to change the lyrics during shows? it sounds like he doesnt really sing any song exactly as its on the cd ever

Here's what I think happened...

They did BBTS in one take, right? No redoing of anything. Just five guys in a studio playing a song once. Maybe Raine just fucked up the lyrics. It makes sense to leave it. That way they can say that they did it in one take. It would also explain why it isn't in the liner notes.

I wasn't even trying to get the lyrics to the song. it just turned out that way.

anyway when I asked Raine, he told me even though it doesn't sound like it, that is what he is singing. If you listen you can hear the *Living By* part, but the *hour* part is kind of fuzzy.

I am just surprise Raine told me at all. these girls were asking him about the line *yoga class for cats* he told them he actually saw a sign that sad that in LA. SO I asked him about BBTS. he automatically knew what I was talking about. GEE, what happen to the Raine we all knew who never discuss lyrics before. :lol:
